Topic: Looking for Surgeons in Colo Springs!
I am aware of the group of physicians at Colorado Springs Surgical Associates, but am wondering if there is anyone else in the Springs?  I am having to appeal the denial because it is a plan exclusion, and IF they decided to cover it, I don't think these docs are on my insurance plan...

I would love to hear from / eChat with locals who have been through this process...

I am more than likely going to do it with or without insurance help, and was also wondering if there was anyone *****sides in Colorado Springs, but resides in Denver?  How did that/ how is that going?

Thank you all.  What a wonderful resource this site is!

Thank you all,

Tiffany

Hi Phil,

I would like to offer you support however I have not yet had my surgery.  I do understand the lack of support though, as I go into this with very few people knowing about it.  I am looking to others as well, that have gone through this process.

I hope the past 6 months have gone well for you and that you have found some success!  I'm happy to listen if you want to share!  :)

Have a good night.

Topic: Consults Complete!
Hi All!

I am finished with all of my consults and even had my Primary Care NP take the blood work that Dr. Snyder requests!

I am all ready for my appointment 8 July!!!

Hopefully not too long after that I can get a surgery date.

I am just really excited about all of this; a new life awaits me and I can't seem to wait for it to begin.

Psych consult today was excellent, he said I was happy and very stable.

Now I wait and hopefully the insurance approval will come in fairly soon after my appt.

Cheers!

Megan

Topic: Hello
Hi everyone, I am new to this site, and am 6 months removed from lapband surgery.  My family and friends dont necessarily understand what I am going through, and I would love to meet some people who have also undergone weight loss surgeries.  I am struggling to maintain this new lifestyle, and would love support!

Topic: RE: Denver Metro Area- PCP who is WLS friendly?

Oh my goodness -  I just posted a similar topic!!!  How timely.  I will keep this info in case I don't get a response to my post in the Broomfield Area.

Topic: Primary Care Physician Recommendation???
I live in Broomfield area.  Just moved from Texas.  My insurance doesn't require a Primary Care Physician but of course that's the best course of action for going through the surgery process. Can anyone recommend a PCP physician to me that they know supports WLS?  I am planning to get the lap band.  I am willing to go to Denver if absolutely necessary but Broomfield, Westminster, or Boulder (where I work) is preferred.  Any names are appreciated.  Just don't want to pick someone that is against surgery.

THANKS!

Topic: RE: OT: I need some help.. anyone know the colorado springs area?
Hi.  I live in the security area.  I love this area.  the north side of the springs is so crowded now.  I lived on both sides (on the Air force academy many years ago when it was less crowded, and now on the south end)  and I can tell you I prefer the south end now because of the congestion of the north and even east powers end.   I believe the area the realtors call this is fountain valley.    If I were to move anywhere in the springs at this point, it would be the fountain/mesa ridge area.  I prefer having space

Hi Raven!

I see Kate Johnson, a Nurse Practitioner at Canterbury Wellness Center over by Rose Hospital.  Dr. Margaret Eagan is the MD and their office is AWESOME!

In fact, I saw Kate yesterday a.m. and she ran the blood work for Dr. Snyder!

The office # is 303 394 9355.

Website: http://www.canterburywellness.com/

I have been seeing Kate for 5 years and she is excellent.  She gets WLS and encouraged me to go for it.  I feel as if she is in my corner with this process.

Hope this helps!

Can anyone recommend a PCP who is WLS friendly and understands chronic pain?  My PCP is just clueless about both.  Thanks in advance.
