I am having a lapband done at UCH 5/24. They have a support group every 4th Wednesday from 6.30-8.00pm in roon 2007 in the AIP. I will be going for the 1st time next week. Good luck and maybe see you there.

Who will your surgeon be? Usually the hospital you have your surgery at will have a support group. There are several in the Denver area. My surgeon is Dr. Jonathan
Schoen at University Hosptial. They have a support group meeting once per month usually the last Wed. evening of the month.

You can also go to the groups section in ObesityHelp.com and it will prompt you to type in a zipcode or city and it will direct you to groups near you.
This is a great site for encouragement/ support and care.

I am doing pretty good I just have a sharp pain in the bottom left side below the bottom portal that I am trying to work through. Anyytime I bend over, or walk for a long period of time it get's really bad. Other than that I am doing great now!! Doing pretty good getting in my fluids and protein and overall feel pretty good! Just tired a lttle bit!!

i just had surgery 4/5 and have never been to a support group. I would love to come. How will I know it is the group? Just go to the back room of IHOP?

As you can see Michelle R has been so kind as to give me the info for support groups in the CS area and I called Tanya to tell her of the ones in her area. I will be glad to give her your phone number and she can get in touch with you if she wants to. I feel it will be to her benefit to contact you but you know what they say "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink!" I am not sure if she has texting or not I know I do not. I will also give her the womans' email address so she can contact her to see if there is a charge but as I told Michelle R I have never heard of there being a charge for any support groups. Thanks for all your time and offer of help! I appreciate it!

I contacted my friend, Tanya, and told her about the website and the support group meetings. She is afraid that they charge for these meetings but I told her I didn't think so. She is on a fixed income(disability) and is worried about having to pay to go to them. I have never heard of there ever being a charge for any support groups?? Anyway she has the info and now it is up to her. She does have a friend who has also had RNY and they are thinking of going together, which I think is a good thing! So thank you so much for your help! I do appreciate it!
