Topic: LITTLETON SUPPORT GROUP TEMP LOCATION THIS WEEK
Hi everyone!
There is an event going on at the Church this week and we need to meet at a different location.
I have checked the weather and found that it isn’t expected to rain Thursday evening so I thought we could meet OUTSIDE.
TIME: 6:30 – 8:00 PM.
The location will be:
MOSSBRUCKER PARK

A. From Wadsworth & Bowles:
1. Go West on Bowles to Simms.

That is our destination!

2. Go South on Kipling to Belleview.
3. Right on Belleview to the light.

5. Continue past the Cambridge Common apartments on your left.
6. Immediately after the apartment complex there is a Parking Lot and a Shelter along the left side of the road.
That is our destination!
C. From Southbound C470
1. Take Bowles East to Simms.
2. Left on Simms to the 1st Light (Cross Drive)
3. Left on Cross Drive
4. Continue past the Cambridge Common apartments on your left.
5. Immediately after the apartment complex there is a Parking Lot and a Shelter along the left side of the road.
That is our destination!
There is a shelter at the park and we were unable to contact whomever is responsible for reservations. We are going to request that if you have a lawn chair to go ahead and have it in your car just in case the shelter is occupied.
This should be a nice change for us to hold our meeting in the great outdoors.

Topic: LOOKING FOR SUPPORT IN SOUTHERN CO
Hi,
I'm new to this forum and the journey to thinness (is that a word?) Anyway I'm trying to find people from my local area, Durango, Cortez, Mancos, or the four corners area in general. Please message me if you are from this area. I have lots of questions and need support and would like to be supportive also. Thanks so much!

Oh BTW, Dr Georgescu's next WLS surgery seminar is Oct. 14th (Sept. was full) I will be glad to send you the info if you would like. Also, I think medicaid only covers RNY and lapband. I am not positive on that though, Something to ask the surgeons office for sure.

I live in Longmont, CO and am on medicaid. The requirements(to the best of my knowledge) are that you have a BMI of 40 or higher. If your BMI is below that, you must have 2 comorbidities. These generally consist of PCOS, diabetes, high blood- pressure, GERD, etc. Medicaid seems to be more concerned with what your physician recommends, as far as whether they believe WLS would be beneficial for you. I know there is a surgeon in Fort Collins (can't remember the name but should be easy to find because it is a bariatric surgery center. There can't be that many up there). And the one I know of in Denver is Dr. Georgescu which is who I am going through. If you have any questions for me I will be glad to help however I can because I had all the same questions and it was hard to find info regarding medicaid in CO. Hope this helps a little:)

challenge presents is finding a doctor that will perform surgery with medicaid. I'd start by calling the various doctors in the STATE to find out requirements for medicaid approval they would know and probably answer better than calling medicaid directly.
