Congratulations! Now the real fun begins!!! It's absolutely normal to cry and be upset before and after surgery. Major surgery with a subsequent lifestyle change is a big deal. Your doing a great job and I love that positive attitude. Keep it up and let us know how your doing.

I had surgery on the 3rd and was released from the hospital the 6th. Dr.Fedorak was great! Fran was also awesome! the nurses where great and handled everything quickly.the surgery was fine but waking up with all the wires and central line in my neck was alarming. There is no sleep in the hospital as I was always getting injections or vitals taken.I left with a catheter and two weeks worth of Lovenox injections,Fun! I'll write more later.

I picked Dr. Snyder because I felt he had the best team, educational classes, and support groups. He has a ton of experience and a great understanding of what will increase your success. He is an amazing person and he has a great group of people working with him. Have you gone to one of his seminars???? If not maybe that would be helpful in making your decision. I'm not sure if this helped at all, but if you have any other question feel free to send me a message! Morgan

Topic: Live Tele-conference about Stomaphyx!

Is the WLS StomaphyX procedure right for you? Bariatric Surgeon, Dr. Eric Schlesinger, will be hosting a special ObesityHelp Tele-conference in which he will answer your questions.  Expertise and insight from WLS professionals is your first step to better health.  Be sure to join Dr. Schlesinger and OH Members on October 18th to learn more about the StomaphyX A Note from Dr. Schlesinger: StomaphyX  Tele-conference!

On Thursday, October 18th at 6 PM, (Pacific Standard Time) we will have the opportunity to discuss the Stomaphyx procedure. It is an exciting new approach to treat two common causes of weight regain after RNY. If you have had an RNY and your weight loss has stalled short of your goal or if you have experienced a weight gain after initial success, then the StomaphyX might be the procedure for you!  Without any incisions, this innovative tool allows your surgeon to decrease the diameter of your pouch’s outflow tract (stoma) and “tighten up” your pouch. Like all weight loss surgery, this procedure depends on your commitment and compliance. This is an open forum, so have your questions ready. Knowledge is power. It is my hope that our discussion will enlighten and inform you. It is my goal to replace rumors and confusion with insight and truth. Everyone deserves a second chance!

Dr. Eric Schlesinger, Bariatric Surgeon AZ Weight Loss Solutions Phoenix, AZ www.azwls.com Chat space is limited

I decided on Dr. Snyder and just had surgery on the 5th. He was very thorough and uses only the best anestesialogist 5 out of 50 that are available. Amanda, their nutritionist, was by my side nearly the whole time pre and post op. I was able to schdeul my surgery wihtin on eweek of getting all my preop exames done and I am so happy I chose him he is also a center of excellence and received doctor of the year in 2005. Hoep that helps Julie Julesbutterfly

Thank you very much for your input.  I appreciate that you took time to write.  I go to his seminar tonight and have a consult next week.  Wish me luck!

I talked to both doctors offices... I went with Johnnell and am so glad I did -- his staff is AMAZING. My consult was Aug. 1st and my surgery was 9/27 (due in part to my insurance being so good). The program is VERY thorough as is he. Also, he has never lost a patient. This was a big deciding factor for me.  I'm down 10 pounds since surgery and 30 overall from my pre-op diet. I can not say enough good things about my experience with this doctor's office.

You have to make that decision for yourself. I would interview both Drs and decide for yourself. Dr Snyder is the Guru of the LapBand I have heard Hands Down!!!! I know a lot of people that have had him do their surgery and was very pleased. Dr Kirshenbaum does them also. He is very good also. he is at Aurora South. Just do the research, ask questions call the medical board check their stats ect. Then choose. CArla     Dr Tillquist also does the Lap Band too.
