Topic: RE: Another newbie + a couple KP questions
Hi there - I'm back home after surgery.  I spent 2 nights in the hospital and slept so much better when I got home.  My recovery is going good.  I'm sore, but that's to be expected.  Thanks for the positive thoughts!  I'll check back later when I have more energy.

Glad to hear that you are doing well. I am not sure what Lovenox is...but if something werid like a giant lump pops up that wasn't there before...please go to your doctor or ER immediately. Just because they think it's something over the phone doesn't mean much. Have it looked at to just make sure everything is ok. Hope you still doing well and good luck with everything!

Topic: RE: New Here...Dr. Kirshenbaum??
I too had the surgery with Dr. K about 2 years ago. He is a fantastic surgeon and he has a new Bariatric Coordinator who is helping to get a nice support program going. He is one of the best Laparoscopic surgeons in the area. He taught many of the docs in the area how to do the Laparsocopic Gall Bladder surgery. He currently has one of the best prices in town and that's only because he worked at getting a good price so patients would quit going to foreign countries to have surgery. He only charges $15.00 for fills if you are one of his patients.  I highly recommend him!! If you want to pay for all the extra bells and whistles then you should go to another doctor who incorporates all of that into their cost.

I called and left a message with Fran, so I guess that is the official start.  I've also left a message with my PCP to discuss it.  I think she'll be really supportive though.   Thank you so much for your input ladies!

Dr Vern Rubick at Express Care.  They have offices off of Academy, north of Constitution and a new one on Research and Powers.  597-4200 AC office, 955-4200 North office.  I switched to him after my surgery and he has been fantastic.  Very knowledgable and very supportive.

I'm looking for a good family or general practitioner who knows about caring for gastric bypass patients? It's becoming clear not to expect much from the surgeon once it's done. Thoughts?

Surgery date: Oct 11,2007; Goal Reached July 1, 2008.

Thank God for second chances.
