Topic: NOW IS THE TIME!!!!
Hey all, check out the post by OH at the very top of the board. Now is our time to speak up and let them know how much we want them to come to Denver. I have looked and looked every time they post their location for their next event to see if they are coming to Denver and no luck. I think it would be awesome to have OH here in Denver and experience all the great people that live here. So speak up and reply to let them know we want them here!!!! I already replied on the main board as I didn't realize they were posting on individual state boards. Go Denver!!!

Topic: OH Events contest: where do YOU want us to come?
The 2007 event year is quickly coming to its end. We've had a lot of fun, met hundreds of people, made new friends, strengthened each other, and empowered ourselves to continue on our journeys.
With the close of the 2007-year, our eyes turn to the future, to 2008. Where will we go?
Our team has analyzed locations, researched demographics, met with support groups, consulted with area professionals for hours.. and HOURS.. and hours! We do this because YOU are worth it. It is our goal to reach out to as many people as possible. But, we can't decide where to kick off the 2008 year! We've arm wrestled, had ping pong tournaments, basketball games and other battles of wills.
So... we need your help to make this decision! We're having a contest. Where do YOU want us to come to? Let us know!
For the month of November, we will leave this post up. Reply and shout out to us where you want us to come to. If you have ever wished for OH to come to your area, now's the time to speak up! Get your friends, surgeon and support group involved!
Simple reply to this post and let us know the area you want us to come to. At the end of November, we will count up all of the votes and we will make the announcement in December.
Rules of the game:
-Since this is a member's contest, you must be a member to vote
-Each member can only vote once for the same area
-Members CAN vote for multiple locations
-One post, one vote. If you want to vote for another location, make a separate reply.
-All votes have to be a reply to this one of the 'contest' posts
-Due to logistics, we may not be able to come to the exact city requested, but we will come to that 'area' as close as possible.
So now is the time to let your voice be heard! Where do YOU want us to come to?
Topic: Winter Coat
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone who is post op had a winter coat they no longer need. I need something like a 4x but will only need it for a short time as I am having surgery a month from today. I don't really want to go spend money on a bigger coat I will only use a few times. I have other winter coats that are smaller and can wear those after the surgery, but it's getting ready to snow. I have hunted the stores for something cheap enough, found a few but nothing that works great for me. So if anyone has one they are not using, I would love to have it.
Thanks,
Jennifer
Topic: RE: 9 week check up
Almost exactly where you are almost 60 lbs. I lost an average off 22 lbs a month until last month. The doctor want the weight loss to stop now. I started my journey at 277, I am now 147. I carry my weight a lot differently now than I did when I was younger....weird. I try to go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week, but some weeks I don't get there at all.
It is just amazing.
I am so happy for you. You will be a great journey!
Topic: RE: 9 week check up
WOW!! That is amazing. Did you hit plateaus? What were you at when you went for your 9 week check up? Am I on target? How much do you excercise?
Topic: RE: 9 week check up
Isn't it crazy. I went for my 7 month check up last week. I have lost 130 lbs and bought my first size 4 jeans. Sometimes I think I am just dreaming.
Topic: 9 week check up
I just went to my 9 week check up yesterday and I'm down 55 pounds. That's 28 % of what I need to lose and my BMI went from 52 to 43. I'm on the right track and feeling pretty good. Just had to share.
Topic: RE: Jonathan A. Schoen, M.D. ? What Medical records ?
I had Dr. Schoen and I just had my PCP send all my history that had to do with my weight, blood pressure, cholestrol, diabetes, etc for the last 10 years. They did that and all I had to do was sign a form requesting them to do it.
Dr. Schoen is a wonderful doctor and fantastic surgeon. You will love him.
