Hello, I dont know anything about your eating, but would you mind if I asked how you liked your surgeon and services?  I have an appt with Dr Schoen on the 13th of December.  I just need I suppose to hear that either its a good choice... or to keep looking....   do you like his post op care? How was the hospital and pre op care ....  Im sorry for bombing you with questions... but you are the first person I have seen that had Dr Johathan Schoen in Denver, CO perform your surgery.  Any help, answers or advice is sooooo very welcome.  Thank you so much.

Topic: Vote for Denver!
I voted to have the next OH event in the Denver area. Everyone, go to the sticky post at the top of the message board and vote for Colorado. We could host the next event! That would be great to have it here in our state. Need everyone to vote.

Thank you for all the wonderful advice.  I'll try to change my eating and definitely drink more fluids.

You may not be eating enough...I'm farther out than you..but I still eat proteins first. I don't know when the last time I ate bread was....I eat more than 3 times a day and after 10 months, am still losing. However, you could be in a stall, but a stall is when you lose nothing at all. You've still managed to average 2 pounds a week for the last two weeks. Can you increase your exercise? Change up your food? Drink more? Increase your protein?  All those things will help.

That seems like alot of food. Im 5 months out and I still can't eat that much. Im still eating only about 1/4 cup at a meal 3 times a day. Try to cut down the carb intake and up your protien. Also make sure your getting lots of fluids in. The more water you drink the better you lose the weight. Try to cut your food back but eat a few more times a day. If your always getting hungry maybe try to keep yourself occupied and busy. Try to drink instead of eat. You might have hit a little plateau but you should notice a change in the weight if you try to switch things up some. Good Luck!

Topic: RE: Ft.Carson surgery, any insights?
I had some high blood sugar when I came out of surgery so I had to stay in ICU until Wends Night. I had my surgery on a Monday morning and went home Thursday afternoon. Your hospital stay is going to be atleast until Friday if everything goes good you will be in ICU for Tuesday and then sometime Wendsday you will go to the 5th floor. Everyone is different and It just depends on how your doing on how long you stay and where you stay at. I was walking around the ICU Monday night, I did have a motrin pump but still I was up and walking. The sooner you move and the more you move the less sore you will get in the long run. You will have your bad days, but just make sure that when you go home you keep up the fluids. DRINK DRINK DRINK. I went home and was so worried about drinking to much to fast that I got myself dehydrated. Drink probel instead of just plain water for awhile until you can hold more fluid because that helps keep you more hydrated. Everyones hole heals at a different pace. It depends on how your body heals. If your a slow healer it will take awhile....Mine was all cleared up within the first month. Some people I know are 3 months out and still healing up. Is your husband deployed or deploying? Your going to need lots of help when you come home. If you need anything just let me know. My hubby leaves next week so I will be around and not doing much so I can help if you need anything.

Denver will be perfect for an OH event, it was chosen for the 2008 Democratic National convention.

So I think a OH 2008 event would be just the right choice.

I would try mixing things up, maybe you are not getting enough calories now, and your body is in starvation mode.  Try to up your calories for a couple of days, and then change again, to trick your body.  Good Luck
