Make the most out of every day...
I had surgery Monday and got home Friday, im doing ok. Still a bit of pain, and having trouble getting in all recommended fluids. My only problem was feeling like soft food was stuck so Dr kept me 1 day more than orginally thought. Viv PS Tami, thanks for mentioning I was ok.
... and I'm not even in it!!!
It is just the most powerfully motivational short clip I've ever seen, so I put it on my blog! It's called
The 212 Movie
And after that, you can see my 2 5-min. video excerpts from my OH appearance in LA at the national conference a year ago:

That about uses up my "15 minutes of fame..."
Let me know what you think.
Oh! And happy new year, y'all!
Lovingly,
Lauralyn
PS Still in my size 8 jeans!

Christie and Calleina *SP*,
Thanks so much for the kind words and support! It feels so nice to have sisters and brothers going through the same surgery in this state. Honestly, I was horrible about going to the support meetings becuase so many people I met fussed about all the things that the surgery prevented them from doing instead of seeing it as a tool that was given to change our lives. I tell you my life really isn't much different after surgery. I still have a wonderful husband, a great job, and great friends but man it's so much 'funner' doing it slimmer. It's nice not to have that weight being the 1st thing people see about me. It did exactly what I expected it to do; not change my life but enhance the one I currently had and give me longer to live it!
It looks like you ladies are rocking this thing out too. Congrats and may all your blessing come in this year.
Peace,
Shenikwa

Well congrats on being on the losing side! It's just the beginning of your journey and you sound like you're well on your way. The hunger that you are getting is literally 'head' hunger. You know you don't wanna eat, yet it's all you can think about. With your new pouch, you want to be as gentle as possible. It sounds like you had lapband, but it's still sore and very tender. Liquids are the best for the 1st week or so to help sate your appetite. Then you can go to mushy foods, pureed and such and then you get eggs and oatmeal and cream of wheat and such. Remember to get your protein in either by drinks (preferable at this time) and B12! The head hunger will get worse before it gets better, but now you have a tool to help control it. Just remember when you wanna cheat how much you went through to get to this point.
It sounds like you are doing great so far. Remember there are so many people who have been where you are, and are going to BE where you are. Thanks for sharing your experiences so far. Keep up the great work and I hope some of what I said above helps.
Peace,
Shenikwa
