Topic: RE: has any one here in colorado had a band over a gastric by pass ?
All good things probably come to an end.  Both surguries no longer benefit me.  My Highest was 430.  Got down to 255 with RNY.  Started gaining all the way up to 310.   Had revision of Band, then got down to 186.  Now I'm at 230 and have to fight for every damm pound lost.  The esopogus has stretched on top of the band and has become it's own pouch.  Surgeon says I cannot sustain this condition, but offers me no solutions.  As of now I can eat any quantity I desire becase of the stretching.  Never could get the mental part of the program to work for me.  That's it in a nutshell.  So it's not the best for me.  I know others have had more success.

Topic: RE: MEDICAID AND MEDICARE SURGEONS LIST!

Name: Dr. Kevin Rothchild and Dr. Jonathan Schoen

If they accept Medicare and or Medicaid: I know for a fact that they accept Medicaid I was just approved for my surgery and will be having it July 5th, 2011

Phone number: 720-848-8070

Facility University of Colorado Hospital Surgical Weight Loss Center Anschutz Medical Campus

Address Not sure of exact address but it is the hospital on the corner of Colfax and Peoria in Aurora.

p.s The submitted all my paperwork to medicaid on June 16th and it was accepted by them on June 20th so not even a week to approve so my surgery date was moved up for July 19th to July 5th. You have to have the physo. eval and do a NUT. Class. They just starting have a NUT. Class at the hospital this month for $100 if I would have gone else where for the NUT. Class it would have been $200.

Topic: 1 Night in Boulder
Hi Colorado....just thought I would ask if anyone is around Boulder.  Next Monday night I'm in Boulder and plan on hitting an Irish Pub.  Have some testing (non-medical) the next day.  If anyone is around, I will buy the first....

For what it's worth..... :)

I'm not in Colorado, but I've had a band over RNY.

Topic: You wait until you don't
So, WOW! I started this journey last year, full of myself thinking I could have surgery in December. Unfortunately, what I had did not constitute the 6 months of nutrition counseling. In January, I scheduled for all six months, completing my final session on June 6th. I got it in my head that insurance approval would take me into July, but I got a call yesterday and was scheduled for June 29th. I am excited and freaking out simultaneously. It is bizarre when the waiting comes to an abrupt end.

I wish the best of luck for you today! I know they’re crazy busy, but you’re in great hands with Dr Synder.

Well surgery date is scheduled and the staff was pretty understanding with my concerns on how slow things were going.  So I will end up going to Snyder and my surgery is set for tomorrow.

I am currently having issues getting my surgery date scheduled.  I have been promised a certain day to setup the surgery date along with settling payment with no luck.  I have also been promised a phone call that day via email and she didnt have the courtesy to follow up with another email when she was unable to find time to call me.  Currently I am considering Dr Metz if I get strug along anymore.  Already the office staff at Dr Metz office was much more helpful that what I have gotten with Dr Synders office staff.  Right now I am regretting wasting time with them, thinking if I went elsewhere I would be closer to a sugery date.

Sadly I would really like to have Dr Snyder do my surgery, but need to consider other options.
