Topic: South Beach Living Dark Chocolate Fudge Covered Wafer Sticks
I just found these at my local supermarket. They come in boxes of 5 packs. They are 100 calories for 2 wafer sticks with 5 grams of protein. Are they worth it? Read more on my blog

Congrats Long2bThin2,
Keeps us in the loop as to how things go with the pre and post opt events. Enjoy your vacation, it sounds like a great time for mental relaxation.
Topic: how are rising grocery costs affecting the way you eat and shop?
I am in the process of reviewing a new low carb slow cooker cookbook so I went out yesterday to buy ingredients for about 10 of the receipes. I spent over $400.00 between Costco and Fred Meyer. Yes, I bought some non food items (diapers for example) but honestly, it was mostly food. I posted photos of the grocery store receipts on my blog and photos of some of the prices listed on the meats for example. I know that I live in Alaska so what I am paying is probably more than what most other areas are paying, but by how much? if any? I would love to know how other people are dealing with the rising costs of groceries. Please feel free to comment on my blog. I am really curious if I am paying much more than average.

Topic: I have a date!!
I had my consult with Dr. Snyder today and I officially have a surgery date!! June 12th!!! YAHOO!! It's going to seem like an eternity til then. I leave on vacation (Alaska cruise) this weekend so that will take care of a week or so. He does want me to have a stress test which I have scheduled tomorrow before I leave and depending on when they get the results I might get the date sooner. I am praying I do. I have out of town company arriving on June 13th, but I will still go on the 12th if I have to. I'm not waiting any longer! LOL They'll understand.
I was very impressed with Dr. S and his staff. Even Dolly who wasn't quite as friendly at first seemed to warm up. They just moved into new offices on Friday so they were a little unsettled but you wouldn't know by looking that they were only there for a few days.
Topic: RE: Anyone have surgery at Printers Park surgery center in Springs?
I just love him! I appreciate a doctor that will listen without being in a rush to diagnose. He gets all the facts and THEN he starts talking. He also laughs at my jokes. Most doctors are too stuffy either that or I'm not as funny as I think I am. LOL
I had my surgery 8/21/06. The surgery went fine. A week after I developed a clot in my lung. It was caught soon enough and I was on blood thinners for six months. I'm fine now. I also was "blessed" with a stricture in October 06. That was an easy fix, too. So, a couple speed bumps, but nothing major. I would do it all again. I feel so much better.

Topic: RE: Recovery from lap band???
I had my surgery on Thursday and went back to work on Monday - I am the office manager for a small law firm. I usually only work 3 days a week but I did have to work the next Monday, Tuesday morning, Wednesday, and Friday after surgery. I did fine working, the problem I ran into was feeling very weak because of the liquid diet. Once I was able to eat more substance (like refried beans or cottage cheese), I felt much better and have not missed any work because of the surgery. If you can take two or three extra days then do it, but if you have to go back to work - you'll be okay. Good luck.

Isn't Dr. Fedorak great? He said I'd probably need to self pay if I feel that strongly about the hospital. Dang! Did you already have your surgery? Did it go well?

I too would love to find a group closer. The Northglenn group sounds good. I live in Arvada at 88th & Wadsworth. How was the group at Northglenn? did you like it? When does it meet next.

Congrats on your surgery date!!
You might want to post this on the lap band board, you might get some more answers.
But as for me, I wouldn't have felt like working in 4 days. It took me several days to get over the anesthesia haze, so that might have slowed me down.

The only way my insurance would cover the surgery was if I went to a center of excellence. Penrose Main is the only one of those in town. My surgeon was also Dr. Fedorak. I didn't know he would operate anywhere but Penrose?
I feel ya though. I would be much more comfortable at a hospital. Maybe see if Dr. Fedorak can pull some strings?
Good luck!
