amen! amen! amen!!  I can't agree more with all points.  They are a wonderful team!!  I still can't believe they do all that they do and there are only the 3 of them.  Well, maybe there are 4 as I also worked with the lady who actually processes the insurance paperwork. I can't recall her name unfortunately...but she was also an absolute doll and pleasure to work with.

I don't know how to say this, but DON'T GET DISCOURAGED. I completely understand how you feel and I got discouraged and it took almost another year for me to become reinvigorated and fight for myself.  I realized that if I wasn't going to fight for me, no one else sure was going to.  So, I started investigating other options.  At first, I really thought Snyder was the only one performing these in my area.  well, I have since learned otherwise and there are MANY other surgeons within our area that I've heard good things about.  Of course, I am biased and would HIGHLY reccommend Dr.Chae and his staff.  They were indescribably amazing with the entire insurance process.  They really laid everythign out in great detail and were able to keep me on the necessary plan my insurance required to get me approved.  I followed their instructions to a T and they submitted my docments to the insurance in the morning and by the same afternoon I had my approval. WOOHOO!!  For me, they really did everything that they said they would.  I will totally admit that Susie is sometimes hard to get a hold of...but within reason.  She gave me her email address & alternate numbers to reach her and if I couldn't reach her, Kelly (the AMAZING nutritionist) would step up and do what she could as well.  Anyway, it wasn't anywhere near the struggles I experience with Dolly. My ONLY regret with going with Dr. Chae is that I didn't DO IT SOONER!  I regret waiting and letting myself get discouraged and almost giving up.  I would probably be at my goal weight and beyond by now.  but, I am also a very firm beleiver that "all things happen for a reason" and I'm ecstatic about using Dr.Chae, Susie and Kelly!!
But, there is also a Dr.Metz (i think he's in the north area like Longmont or possibly Greeley) there is also another in Ft. Collins (sorry, I'll have to look up his name again) but I've heard rave reviews about.  I would definitely do some digging and posting here on the colorado forum and get some referrals.  but, definitely don't wait and try not to be discouraged.  Remember, you're worth it!! You're worth fighting for!  You deserve to live a happy, healthy and longer life!!  Feel free to contact me directly....over the next few days I'll dig up the info on the other surgeons I've heard good things about and I have 2 friends also using 2 other surgeons. I'm happy to help you in any way that I can. Plus, we're practically neighbors too! How convenient is that??  I am also attending several of the WLS support groups in the area...maybe you can come to one and we could meet up?  Not to sound like a stalker...I just don't want you or anyone else to get discouraged because of a simple hurdle like this.  We are here to help with those hurdles too.

all the best,
heather

Topic: RE: Fort Carson DSers?????
Hi Sheila,
I live in Falcon, just outside of Co. Springs. I'm still in the process of deciding if I should have the DS or the VSG. Either way, I will have to travel, because the WLS surgeons here only do RNY and Lapband. If I have the VSG, I need to go to Denver. If I have the DS, the closest surgeon is in Omaha, Nebraska. Oy! So we'll see what happens.
Welcome to Colorado! (If you move here, that is...)

I have to say that I am sooo glad I chose Dr. Chae also. I had consults here in Wyoming, none of which were very productive at all. I knew I would have to self pay from the start, so  I checked out a few places. I got a very good rate through Capital One Health care financing. Dr. Chae and his assistant Susie are great, not to mention the dietician (Kelly) who works very diligently with them.
I wasn't aware that I had to pay a $50 fee for the nutritionist on my first follow up visit, and didn't have any extra to spare at that time, so Dr. Chae stepped up and payed Kelly for me, little does he know... I'll be paying him back on my next visit. I really appreciated his help, and I absolutely adore the whole team.

Always glad to hear great things about Dr. Chae. He's a very caring and very thorough doc.
Thanks for letting me put my 2 cents in,
Frankie

Fort Carson may be our next home for a while. Are there any DSers in the area?

Thank you so much for for sharing your experience. I am feeling the same way you did. I actually got denied by my insurance company and have to appeal. Dolly basically told me that I was on my own to appeal and there was nothing more she could do for me. I haven't appealed  yet because I'm not sure that I even want to go through Dr. Snyder's office anymore. This is such a major thing that I want to be treated like I matter and not like another number. I've been so dissapointed by my treatment so far by Dolly that it makes me second guess how I would be treated after surgery. If I had an issue is it going to be impossible to get ahold of anyone? Are they even going to care? I am so discouraged right now.

I want to preface my statement with the understanding that I am very aware of how busy Dolly is and the workload she has to endure.  I can only imagine how overwhelming it must be.  But I, unfortunately, did not have a good experience with Dolly.  After months & months of disinterest and lack of response and the lack of follow through or follow up with regards to my insurance.  I ultimately gave up feeling mislead that no one was fighting for me as they had promised they would.

After about 9months I decided to pursue WLS again, but with a different surgeon. That turned out to be THE BEST decision for me.  I had the same insurance I had when I left Snyder's practice...I went to Dr.Chae at Skyridge medical center and everything went smooth as BUTTAH.  I think Snyder's practice is phenomenal...I experienced nothing but kindness and support with every one of Snyder's staff with the sole exception of Dolly. She was cold, unfeeling, unresponsive and would simply repeat things to me without explanation or plans of attack on how to approach my insurance company etc.  I got the impression that I was somehow on her bad list and once I was there, she had no interest in helping me.  I logged complaint after complaint with Snyder and another member of his office just recently.

I am sorry I don't have more positive information to share with regards to Dolly.  But, I just wanted to share my unique experience.  But, please understand that I don't say this to hurt anyone or cause any negativity.  This is just my experience and I wanted to share since the question was asked.

Best of luck in your journey.  But, you may find that life may take you along a different path to reach the same destination. That's what I feel happened to me.  I ultimately found a surgeon and staff that suited my needs better and turned out to be the PERFECT fit for me.

Thanks for allowing me to share.
all the best,
Heather
