I'm scheduled for surgery on Sept. 4th with Dr. Schoen too!  I'm 43, but I'm a little worried that it will age me too.  I wonder if your friend is drinking enough water.  Water helps keep your skin nice and supple.  See you at the hospital! - Karen

Topic: RE: HELP! Insurance (United Health Care) Denied Surgery
My insurance policy has an exclusion on it. and everyone thought that proceeding was wasting their time. If he has medical necessity .....file an appeal. The surgeons office should be able to tell you from the person there that does insurance what they need. I had made up my mind to figure a way to pay for it myself (because of the RX savings and food money I would save) but the insurance told me Monday I was approved and gave me an approval number. Having WLS and Needing WLS is to different things I was headed for Dialsis if I did not do something Appeal Fight ask the company to consider Medically necessary wihen they renew the policy and PRAY!!! there is always hope. I have UHC and it is approved!!

Hi, Vivienne:

I appreciate your response... thank you :)

I've met w/ Dr Bordelon once, and I will have my second consultation w/ him in about a week or so.  He seemed to be very kind and patient.  I liked him, and it is nice to know that others have the same opinion.

Did you have any complications w/ your surgery... or after?  Do you have any words of wisdom or advice?

I just had my Psych Eval this morning, and it went really well.  It was very informative.  I was given several websites that will aid in my post surgery life, and I'm looking forward to spending time learning as much as I can from each of them.

I can't wait to finally have the surgery.  It looks like you are doing really well, and that is very encouraging and motivating.

Once again... thank you for responding.  I'm sure you'll be hearing more from me in the future :)

I had Dr Bordelon.  I love him, he is very down to earth, and answers any all questions.  If you have a more specific question just PM me.

I'm doing really great. I have lost over 100 lbs and maintaining. I wear about a size 18 too...I think it's great to be able to wear normal size clothing in normal stores. I have so much energy and get great responses from everyone. I still think of myself as a large woman but I am trying to learn that I'm not anymore. Great to hear that you've lost so much weight and your feeling good...congrats! I hope you keep on taking care of yourself too!

Topic: For those of you that don't take dumping on sugar seriously or
better yet, don't think you do dump on sugar so you think you can't dump on it.  Boy have I got a story for you.  I am one of those post ops that can get away with some sugar so I decided to pu**** with dangerous results.  My post should serve as a warning, don't let this happen to you.
