Topic: Posting Problems
Hi everyone:

This is probably all over the site, but I'll simplify things by posting here as opposed to the Main Board.  If there really is a problem, I'm sure the OH staff will get to the bottom of it. :)

Anyhow...With my last two posts, I've had submit it TWICE in order for it appear on the boards.  I know I'm not on moderated status as I would be told as much.  Yet for some odd reason, I'm having to click the BACK button of my browser (Fortunately it didn't lose anything I said AND I copied it to the Windows clipboard as a backup) and then click SUBMIT again.

There's NO double-posting.  Just the original.  Really weird.

Is it just me who's encountering this or has anyone else had this same problem?

Just figured someone @ OH should know if there really is a problem....

Cheers :)

BTW....This only seems to happen when posting replies.  Not when posting new messages.  Really weird....

Topic: RE: boyfriend wants to have lap-band
Hi everyone:

A couple of questions...Does your boyfriend know EXACTLY what he's getting himself into?  Does he know this isn't some cool nifty way to become a "macho man"?

You'd be surprised at the number of guys who think that.

If your boyfriend is amongst those who see getting a Lap Band as a way to become a "macho man", he'd better think things through and more clearly BEFORE searching for a surgeon.

Just my $.02 worth....

Cheers :)

Hi everyone:

Just a little blog posting feedback....

Could you PLEASE avoid posting as though the text is supposed to the fine print legalese in a contract?  Using PARAGRAPHS makes it easier to read.  :)

Again...Just a little blog posting feedback....

Cheers :)

Hi, Vivienne:

I appreciate your response... thank you :)

I've met w/ Dr Bordelon once, and I will have my second consultation w/ him in about a week or so.  He seemed to be very kind and patient.  I liked him, and it is nice to know that others have the same opinion.

Did you have any complications w/ your surgery... or after?  Do you have any words of wisdom or advice?

I just had my Psych Eval this morning, and it went really well.  It was very informative.  I was given several websites that will aid in my post surgery life, and I'm looking forward to spending time learning as much as I can from each of them.

I can't wait to finally have the surgery.  It looks like you are doing really well, and that is very encouraging and motivating.

Once again... thank you for responding.  I'm sure you'll be hearing more from me in the future :)

I'd also poke around on Yahoo! Groups and just type in the word BARIATRIC as the keyword. That should bring up a whole list of discussion groups which you can join to get even MORE useful information (Just be wary of the source though).

In addition, I'd Google for some WLS blogs as many of us are blogging our journey either via text or video (YouTube is a GREAT place to find video. Again just enter the words BARIATRIC SURGERY in the search box and you'll see a bunch of videos on the subject. But again, be wary of the source).

When I say "be wary of the source", I mean don't treat what person says as gospel as YOUR MILEAGE MAY (And most likely will) VARY. Therefore your results may (And most likely will) be different. So consult your doctor first before believing ANYTHING we say as being "truthful" (Anybody here who claims what they say here is THE ABSOLUTE fact has no business whatsoever posting here as chances are what they're saying is most likely not true to begin with).

BTW Jewell, which procedure are you having?

Whichever one it is....Good luck with it.

Cheers

I hope I get those results too!  I'm 43 and hoping to have surgery with Dr. Chae next month.  Still waiting on getting final approval and a date, however, Susie is pretty confident we will get it pushed through.  I'm really hoping it drops some years from my face.  After going through cancer last year I have really aged lately and am ready to look like myself again.

Topic: RE: HELP! Insurance (United Health Care) Denied Surgery
I have UHC as well and mine was not covered as well.  It was an exclusion put in the policy by the employer.  They did not have this exclusion 2 yrs ago when I first considered it, but I was of the mentality at the time that I don't need sugery and can lose it on my own.  Two years later I decided I needed surgery to do it and then the exclusion was there.  I ended up doing a home equity loan to pay for it.  My luck is next year it won't be an exclusion again but then again I will be much lighter by then.  But companys can change the coverages every year at open enrollment so it very well could've been covered 3 yrs ago and not now, that was the case for me.

Hi, Shasta!  I appreciate your response.

That says a lot.  If you would recommend him to your mother, you must be very happy with him.

I still haven't heard anything from his office since my Psych Eval last week.
I'm trying to be patient w/ the whole process... but I'm so anxious to have the surgery behind me.

Thanks again... and have a terrific day!

Thank you,
Jewell
