Sorry to hear your insurance people are such "butt heads". Fight for it. Go to your doctor (PCP) and see what he can do, most will provide a letter of medical necessity (if your weight is causing comorbidities, which is nearly all of us) or medical records of your weight history. Appeal, appeal and then appeal again. Your documented history of weight loss attempts should be enough to show that you have spent well more than a year doing just what a doctor supervised "diet" would have done. I don't know of any doctor supervised "diet" that has any better chance of success than what you've already done.
Has your PCP tracked your weight over the past year? Check with him and see what he has to say.

I would be very leary of taking the word of someone who cannot find the time to fill out a profile to share who they are and what they believe in yet wants us to hurry off to their website for the "latest and greatest" thing since sliced bread.

WHAT DO I DO NOW....I CANT AFFORD THIS OUT OF POCKET....
Someone told me to go work for Tmobile or Lane Bryant for 90 days just to get on thier insurance and supposably they will cover the surgery no questions asked....
any opinions...
