Happy Holidays,

Ah, thanks. I really like doing the pannels because I want people to hear my story. I still want to loose about another 50lbs but I take it one day at a time. If you ever need to talk to have problems/ questions just hollar. I just want to help as many people as I can. That pretty much goes for everyone. I pretty much will answer any question!
Hey there,
I am 6 days post-op from having a Realize band 'installed' by Dr. Snyder. So far, everything has gone way more smoothly than I thought.. Pain, or 'discomfort' as they say, was minimal and very manageable in my case.
I have had some other abdominal surgeries (2 C-sections and a hysterectomy). This is WAY less uncomfortable.
I was lucky to only have to use the pain pills for one day and two nights. Then I spent another day on tylenol and ibuprofen. So I've had no pain relievers at all since Saturday night.
I, too, am now hoping I can follow through with the diet plan. It's easy right now....you're not that hungry.
That's about all I can comment on so far. I wish you luck and am sure you'll make the right decision for you.
Sorry you couldn't get in on the Pre Op class on Saturday, but really it wouldn't help you much with how to eat before surgery. It is all about how you will be eating after the surgery. Before surgery concentrate on protein and portion size. I did this on a cruise 10 days before my surgery in June and I lost 4 lbs on the ship. I was amazed with all that food around. I ate small portions more often instead of 3 huge meals a day. the best help for you right now, in my opinion, would be to start going to support groups. Check out Dr. Snyders website, they have them all over town. You do not need to have had surgery to attend. You will see so many successful people there and be able to talk about your concerns there and get a lot of help from folks that have been there and done that.
The first and most important step is making the decision to have WLS. I chose to have the Lap Band as it has less complications and is more of a tool to help me gain control of my life.
I am proud of you for investigating your options. I pray that it works out for you.

I just had to document the weight lose attempts that I have made, but I did not have to have a supervised diet plan. Even though I have been there, done that.
I have Kaiser Insurance and from what I understand they are pretty encouraging of the surgery. My surgery date is 31 December.

Best wishes to you on your journey and I pray that your insurance will allow WLS.
