I have heard of this being done a lot lately.  If you go to the Lap Band forum, there are people there who have had it done.

12/09 and 6/11, 9 skin removal procedures with Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico
Revised to the Sleeve after losing 271 lbs with the LapBand.

That is great!  Very encouraging.  I had the band done in May.  I am doing pretty good with it.  I still have some struggles with food, mostly getting enough fluids, but your right about the holidays.  You should be happy with your progress to.

Hopefully we can get more people talking on here...it has to start somewhere!

I have heard of people having the gastric after the lapband but not the other way around. I think either surgery is only a tool as good as the one who uses it. I think if somebody goes in to this thinking its a life long change for the better then it will work. That being said I haven't gone through surgery though so its easy to give advice but that's just what I have heard from others. Happy New Year to all!

Hi Alexis,
I usually only stop in here once a week or so, but I agree - it is tough to get folks talking on this board!

I had RNY in August of this year, and it has gone pretty well. I still struggle a little bit with eating the right foods (can you say HOLIDAYS!?!), and getting in the right amount of protein. But I continue to lose, and that is positive. Doc's and nut are happy with my progress.

How are you doing?

Topic: Hello everyone...
I am going to do a post here for everyone in Colorado...It seems like there is a lot of people, but not many on here want to post or chat the same as they do on the general board.  It is kinda neat to have this board cause it is more close to home.  Are the people in Colorado afraid to talk to each other?  Starting a support group and getting people to talk is really hard I have to say.

I know your out there guys...lets all get together and support each other!!!

As I have been reading I do see you can have a revision.  I had a gastric in 2004 but have gained 50 pounds back after a ugly divorce!

Congrats....  The only words of advise that I have is give yourself time. There is a lot to learn, and a lot of questions, so ask all of those questions and take your time.  It doesn't happen overnight.  You will do great!!!!

That is a really good question.  I have heard of people getting the bypass after the band but  I have not really heard the other direction...I know that someone in my support group had the bypass and gained the weight back and is going in to have it re done but I am not sure how that works either.  I am interested to see more responses to this.

Has anyone ever heard of anyone ever having a lap band procedure after having a Gastric?
