Topic: Has it already been 10 weeks???
Wow what a journey it has been so far! I finally sat down with a claendar and figured out that it has been 10 weeks and 3 days since my surgery and when I stepped on the scale this morning it said that I have lost 32 pounds!! It jsut blows my mind to think that I have lost the same amount of weight in 10 weeks that it took me 6 months on the MRC program!
When I think about the last couple of months, it amazes me at how different my life it now! Not only have I lost this mind blowing amount of weight in such a short period of time but I feel so GREAT!!! I have not felt this good in years! I am slowly but surely getting off the meds that I had to take before and most importantly I am riding my horses again!! That is probably the very best part of this whole adventure, well that and getting rid of my fat clothes!!
I am so thankful for all of my support circle, they are always there for me and have been the great inspiration, especially my daughter and husband! I could not even begin to be this successful without them! My daughter and I spend our weekends together on horseback and my husband and I have had a great time discovering new places to go eat where we can share his meal and it gives us a reason to sit side by side at the restaurant instead of accross from each other, and that is WAAAY more romantic!!
Anyway life is good and I am gettng healthier with every passing day and everytime I sit in the saddle there is jsut a little more room! The horses are pretty thankful for that too!

Topic: RE: OK ladies, I need a Dr recommendation!
I am almost 3 years out and have a 15 month old - Dr. Lynne Barta with Midtown OB/GYN was awesome. She worked closely with my surgeon to make sure all the right test were being ordered.(she also delivered my 5 year old) My pregnancy was so smooth, gained 20lbs and lost it right away.
Good Luck!
Good Luck!
Topic: RE: DR. Gerald Kirshenbaum
I've decided to go with him. I have emailed and spoken to Natalie and found her to be very polite and prompt in replying. Even this morning when they had a blizzard and everyone was calling in. Though hotel and airfare is extra, I am still saving four thousand dollars. I couldn't find anything negative about him or his surgery skills anywhere I looked. Since I have to pay for this myself and I don't want to risk my health or safety, I had to do a lot of research on many doctors across the US and Mexico. There are doctors who have about the same price in other parts of the country, but Denver is only about an hour by air from here.

Topic: RE: support groups in the Longmont or Firestone area
I haven't heard of one near us. I saw that there were some in Greeley, but that is still farther than I want to drive. I know there was one in Arvada, but that is still about 30 miles from me and farther than I want to drive.
I'd be interested in starting one. Maybe it could be a lunch group, depending on where we all work. I work in Boulder, along the Diagonal Higway, at the IBM campus. I say lunch group, because I know it's very hard for me to convince myself to go out again once I get home from work. :-)) I'm a definite homebody.
