Looking for a great doctor...

Hi, My sister just moved to Longmont. (It is in between Denver and Fort Collins.) Anyway, she just found out that her insurance does cover WLS, and she is now looking for a great surgeon. Does anyone have any suggestions? I had RNY 6 weeks ago, and I loved my doctor, but I am in Idaho, and I think she would do better with a doctor that is closer. I'm hoping someone can help. Thanks!

I originally started looking at surgeons in Colorado (ended up in Mexico because my BMI was under 40). I had an appointment with Dr. Jonell in Greeley. He seemed very nice and from what I have read is very competent..... -Michelle

Both Dr. Jonell and Dr Snyder are highly respected surgeons. My surgeon was Dr Snyder. Not only is he a wonderful surgeon, his after care is great. There is a support group in Longmont area on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month. Have you sister visit one of these support groups to get more information about Dr. Snyder. Your sister can get the address and time of the support group meeting from Dr. Snyder's web site.

I live in Longmont also...I highly recommend Dr Brown he is also out of Denver. Im 4 yrs post-op and he treated me even w/o having insurance. I dont believe there is a more local surgeon who will do RNY. Questions drop me a line. Deb

Dr Michael Snyder at Rose is fantactic as his his staff. I am two and a half weeks postop for a lap gastric bypass. They have it down to a science and are very personalbe.
