From looking at the insurers page, it appears that maybe Kaiser has become easier to work with on WLS, what have your experiences been? I just want to know what to expect. Thanks. Liz

Hi Liz, I have Kaiser of Colorado and it is a long process. I applied to Kaiser back in August of 2005, got approved for the surgery in Oct-2005, and am on up to a 2 year waiting list. Then once you receive the letter from Kaiser stating you are ready for WLS, you then have to go through 10 weeks of nutrition classes in Denver before you can even meet with the surgeon. It is so frustrating having to wait, wondering when am I going to get my surgery done. In the meantime, my diabetes is out of control, having to go on insulin now. Let me know if you have any more questions.
