HEY ALL LETS GET MOVIN' ROUND HERE
QUESTION FOR YA'LL......
WHAT ARE YOU DOING NOW THAT YOU NEVER WOULD HAVE DONE BEFORE YOUR SURGERY? FOR EXAMPLE: A NEW JOB, A NEW SPOUSE/A BETTER RELATIONSHIP WITH THE OLD ONE. SO ON.
WE HAVE TO MAKE THIS BOARD JUMPPIN LIKE IT USED TO BE, SO LETS START HERE AND NOW!!!!
MUCH LOVE AND HAPPINESS TO YOU ALL,
KRISTIN
I am new to Colorado and would love to see this board more active!
I had my RNY May 24, 2004 and I am down 133 pounds. There are many things I can do now that I couldnt before..
- I fit in an airplane seat (with out a seat belt extension and spilling over into the seat next to me)
- I can paint my own toes ( I can see them now!!!!!)
- I can cross my legs
- I can shop in almost any clothing store. I have CHOICES now....
- I stop eating when I am full ( I didnt get full before surgery.... I would eat my way through it)
- I can fit in a booth
There are many more... This surgery has definintely changed my life! Even with the droopy boobs I would do it again in a heart beat !!!

My surgery was just over 7 months ago. I'm down 115 pounds and there are soooo many more things I can do now. Crossing my legs is the big one. Not having to worry about going to an amusement park and fitting in the rides would be another. I can walk up a flight of stairs and not be totally out of breath. I can go clothes shopping and not be depressed because I can't find anything that fits. Things like that..definitely a good feeling.

Kristin -
Thanks for giving us the "Jump Start"! The things that have happened in the past 10 months are so unreal to me still!
I gained enough confidence to go out and get a new, and greatly improved job just 2 months after surgery.
I love being able to tie my shoes without having to sit on the stairs and having the bows crooked, because I could not see what I was tying!
I love being able to cross my legs and go to Yoga class with my sister and really be able to get down on the floor without having to have help back up!
I love being able to use the "little people" bathroom stalls.
I love being able to fit into a pair of size 8 pants! (Long way down from a tight 24!)
I love being able to feel and see my bones!
I love not sweating all the time and feeling out of breath just walking down the hall to the bathroom.
I love hearing my 16 year old son tell me I look skinny!
I could go on, and on, and on. This new life is great and I thank God every day that I can participate in life now, not jus****ch it pass me by!

Now that some of you have answered my question, I guess I should answer my own question.
Since I have lost 152 pounds in a little over a year I now have the self esteem to do lots of stuff. 1) I have started selling Party Lite Candles, before surgery I didn't have the guts to stand in front of someone and try to sell them anything, 2) I have been able to start power walking 2-5 miles everyday, 3) I can buy clothing in a regular store with out people looking at me funny, 4) I have moved on to a better job and I love the way that people will talk to me like I am a normal person not someone with a weight issue. 5) Go out, before surgery I was a stay home and sit on the sofa and eat ice cream, but now I wanna go out and have fun. My boss took me to my very FIRST concert ever for my birthday and it was so great, I had guys look at me and I felt wonderful and like a million gazzillion bucks. I make the best food choices when grocery shopping and also when going out, I have learned that it is perfectly OK to not clean your plate, and its ok not to have seconds, thirds, and more when you are at someones party, that it is ok to just have a bite of something and be content. 6) the biggest thing I have gained from this is the ability to live my life to the fullest and not be stuck at home in front of the TV with a gallon of ice cream.
I love my new life and I would do it all again a million times over if I needed to, this is the way life should be!!
Much love to all
