Help with Financing & Recommendations

Hello, my name is Misha and I just moved to Firestone this past month. I started looking into having some type of weight loss surgery for the past 6 months or so, but haven't had any luck because of finances. When I first started the search, I weighed 368lbs!! I have lost 15lbs since the last time I went to the doctor, but now I don't know if I've gained it back or lost more. I currently have high blood pressure and possibly congested heart failure. I need to do something soon!! If anyone has any suggestions on where to look for insurance or Medicaid options, please let me know what I can do. Thanks!

Hello Misha, Welcome to Colorado. I haven't responded since I don't know anything about Medicaid. Have you have called all the Colorado WL surgeons insurance administrators and asked if they take Medicaid. They are usually pretty good about spending time with you to go over various insurance and payment alternatives. Also, this message may be a better post for the big board since you may find more people who have some experience with Medicaid. Sorry, I can't be any help. Good luck.

Hello Misha, Welcome to Northern Colorado. I understand the frustration you are feeling. I don't know much about insurance options but I run a support group in Longmont for Dr. Snyder. All patients are welcome. I strongly suggest that you come in for a visit because there are people there that may have gone through what you have and can guide you in the right direction. You may call Dr. Snyder's office at 303 280-0900 ask for Dolly. She would also know about your options. The longmont support group meets at Grand Meadows MHC 821 17th Ave. We meet again on September 20th. We meet the 1st and 3rd tuesdays normally. We are off this week because of the holiday. I hope you can get him to come too. You will need all the support you can get. It is a rough road but it is worth traveling. I had my surgery May 26th 2004. I was in the super obese catagory. I am down 135 lbs and am feeling great at 160lbs now. I started at 295. Support group is essential for success. I attended for 6 months before surgery.
