A Little Advice, Please?
Greetings, Colorado Friends!
Hubby and I are flying to CO Springs next week to find a house. (We're Army ... will be PCSing from Virginia first week of October.
I am three weeks and a couple of days out. One of my priorities is to find a bariatric physician to do my follow-ups, and a good therapist to help with the transition. (This makes eight moves in seven years!)
I understand there is a clinic at Fort Carson. That may be the most logical place for me to end up, but I would VERY much appreciate it if y'all would share your thoughts on your surgeons/clinics/counselors.
I'm also hoping there will be a vibrant support group in CO Springs. I see a lot of stuff in Denver/Aurora/etc. Definitely will make the drive if needed!
Thanks in advance for your comments.
Heather
Hi,
Welcome to Colorado. Here is the link to my surgeon, Dr. Schoen and my comments regarding he and his team at the U. of Colorado Weight Loss Center. Not that bad of drive from the Springs especially if you can set mid-day appoinments. Good luck with post-op. I am weeks out with no problems to date.

Predicting the weather in Colorado is a little like guessing the winning numbers in lotto. Very unpredictable to say the least. Anywho, here is a guess. Fall is approaching so the weather, and the aspens, should be beautiful. Looks like 70-80 degrees with very low humidity compared to VA. Heres a good link for the next week's forecast for the Springs. Have a great trip.

Welcome to Colorado Springs.....
Right now I am in the process of getting the surgery... I have found Dr. Ihor Fedorak in Colorado Springs at Penrose Hospital. They have a great office and even better Support group open to everyone (no charge). Right now the support group meets twice a month the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month at Penrose Hospital. In October they are adding so it will be 4 times a month. 2nd and 4th Fridays and the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays. We would love to meet you...
Hi Carmen!
Do you have a date yet??? Hang onto your hat!
I'm STOKED that the support group meets twice a month now and will meet four times a month right about the time we get there! Nothing compares to being in a room with people who share the same hopes, fears, and (usually) weird senses of humor, right?
Thanks so much for responding. Hope to meet you!
