Looking For Info For A Friend IN CO

A friend of the family is looking into the surgery. He has been able to work due to his weight. I know public aid in Il will pay for the surgery if medically necessary. Does anyone know if that is also true in CO? Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Kelly

Hi, Kelly. I noticed in the 'Insurers' area of the Colorado menu that Medicaid has apparently covered many surgeries in the past. I saw that some of them mentioned that the surgery had to be medically necessary. If you go into 'Insurers' you may be able to contact some of those who have had surgery and find out more about it. I am in the same situation. I called every doctor's office on the list that has ever approved Medicaid with no luck. I found that none of them take Medicaid any longer. I am now working with a surgeon in Nebraska (3 hours away) and having some luck, but nothing wonderful yet. Sharon
