hi. i have my first appointment with a bariatric surgeon on july 20th. my best friend, sister in law, cousin have had this surgery. they are all glad that they had the surgery. i believe the cost depends on the type of surgery you have. i will have the laposcopic rny and my insurance covers it. i do believe the cost without insurance is like 35,000. my friend has went from a size 30 to a size 16. she has lost over 115 lbs. and said that if she could get the surgery again she would. you would have to go to your primary physician and get a referral and talk over the health issues you have that contributes to your weight. you would need to have a bmi of 40 or 100 over your ideal weight for your height. i am nervous about this whole thing and at least my insurance seems to be giving me an okay time with this whole thing.

What do you want to know Amy? Cost is a lot.. do you have insurance? Before I was Fat and unhappy, unhealthy and miserable. After I am energetic, look great and feel even better. And that is just four months out! At four months I have lost about 76 pounds since surgery and 81 for the year. Have you went to a seminar? That will answer a lot of questions you have. But I would be happy to answer any general questions. Jami
