OT - Vacations

Hi Colorado friends. I was hoping for some help and/or suggestions. We're thinking of coming to CO in July for some R&R. This would be me, my s/o who has some health problems and my 10 y/o son. Any suggestions on great vacation spots/hotels, etc. We're probably looking at the Pike's Peak area. I've always wanted to ride the cog train up, but it's been many years since I was there (like 20 years ago)!!! My s/o likes the cowboy types of things and am thinking my 10 y/o would be interested in places like the air force academy.... Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Janie, Sounds like everything you want to do is in the Colorado Springs area. The cog train still goes up pike's peak. I went on in about 2 years ago. Air force academy is not far from manitou springs (thats where the train ride is at). Maybe look on expedia to see if they have any good hotel deals in colorado springs. I also like cripple creek if you like to do some gambling or anything of that nature. It's not to far from colorado springs. Plus there is the garden of the gods which is free and pretty cool to look at which is located in Colorado Springs as well. Hope that gives you some ideas. Kerri

The Pioneer Museum in Colorado Springs is a good bet ,its free you just have to pay a parking meter ,took my kids last week ,there is also the Pro Rodeo museum in Colorado Springs .Here is a link.Kristy http://www coloradosprings.com/
