feeling like crappola Response from Michelle Wood at 8:54 AM MST on 06/05/2005 Denver, CO - RNY (06/01/2005) Hi there, Surgery was on Wed..and now it is Sunday. I'm sure everyone has heard this before. I feel like crap! I'm tired and shaky..and I know it has to do with the lack of protien. The problem is that everyone I have tried has really made me nautious. Do you have any suggestions? I just keep thinking if I can make it to that three week mark it will be okay.

Hey, Michelle. My surgery was on Thursday and I feel like crap too. No energy--sleeping a lot and everything seems to make me sick. I swear I can't sip anymore broth. I'm with you--if I can just get through this first week and then the next it will all get easier with time.

Hi Michelle: I am now 9 months post op and scheduled to have skin removal next week. Be assured that what you are feeling is very normal. I was weak for way too long - nearly 6 months due to lack of proteins and nausea. They discovered I had reflux and treated it. Now I am able to get my proteins down and am feeling much better. It is really in your best interests to get the protien. I did not and I really paid the price. Probably the most costly has been my hair and nails. My hair used to be beautiful and now I look like a cancer patient. I know it takes a long time to get past this but the sooner you can the less harm you will do to your body. I was told to drink "Smar****er". It is electrolyte enhanced distilled water. It truly helped to keep me in the game. I wish you well and know that you will pass this difficult time. Then you can get into looking at the number of pounds and inches you will loose.
