No help for granny

I am a 53 yr old grandmother of 5. I have worked hard all my life as a nurses aide. I never could afford insurance because I was a single divorced mother raising 2 kids. I got so sick w/ diabetes, arthritis, low thyroid function and weight bearing arthritis that I could no longer work. I am now on SSI and get 560.00 a month to live on and medicaid for insurance. No dr. in Colo will touch me because of this even tho I have been thru all the medical tests and passed the psych eval twice because of my insurance. I am coming to accept that there is no help out there for me concerning wls and have fallen into a deep depression. I have never in my life been suicidal but when I think of the years ahead and how little I will be able to participate I just wish I could die tonight. I have dieted and exercised and lost and re-gained over 100 pounds several times over the years, but this last time has just about done me in. I dieted and exercised, even w/ severe arthritis pain for 2 1/2 years and lost down from 299 pounds to 184 pounds, but now I am beginning to gain it all back. The same old pattern seems to be repeating itself and I just can't do this anymore. Are there any alternative insurances out there for someone like me?

DEAR JANET, I LIVE IN CANON CITY, CO NOT FAR FROM PUEBLO. MY PCP TOLD ME THAT DR. TIM BROWN DOES WLS AND ACCEPTS MEDICAID FOR PAYMENT. THE SURGERY WOULD BE DONE IN PUEBLO. THAT'S WHERE HE ALWAYS DOES THEM. DR. TIMOTHY BROWN R MD ACS 618 MAIN 719-275-4061 IT'S NOT LONG DISTANCE SO YOU DON'T NEED THE AREA CODE TO CALL FROM PUEBLO. LET ME KNOW IF THIS WORKS OUT FOR YOU. YOU CAN E-MAIL ME AT [email protected] Linda Holtz
