Lap Band Adjustments in CO?

Does anyone know a doctor in Colorado that will do lap band adjustments ? I had my band surgery in Mexico because my insurance would not pay, and now the doctors don't want to touch me for a fill. I called several before I had the surgery and they said yes, and gave me a price. Now that I actually need to schedule the appointment they say NO WAY or they add all sorts of charges once they find out I am self-pay. I called one that had quoted me a good price and the "fill" was still only $150, but the office visit was $250 and they also require an upper GI for a nice $700 or more plus they want to do all sorts of blood work and tests. The total would be thousands. I can't afford this, and it makes me mad that they lied or just didn't bother to tell me the whole truth. So... I am looking for someone who can and will do a fill for a reasonable price. Anyone have a suggestion?

Hello Fellow Lap-bander! I too had my Bnad placed in MX by Dr Kuri. If you go to www.yahoo.com, click on groups, search for "coloradobandsters" and join our local Bandster Board. We have many many lapbandsters in Colorado and we meet twice a month for support groups - they are great! We would love to meet you. As for your question on getting fill, you can check our database on the yahoo board and most of us use Dr Halloway in Scottsbluff NE. He is about a 3 hour drive from Denver, but will take MX paitients. He is GREAT and a very expierence Band doc. He charges $91 for the first fill and $52 for the rest of them. You can't beat the price. I have used him many times. You can watch the yahoo board for car-pooling to NE for fills. I am headed there on 6-15-05, if you want to come along! His # is 800-321-6790. There is a lady in my Lap Band Support Group at Swedish who had Lap Band Surgery on Puerta Vallarta and Dr Tillquist in Englewood is no doing her adjustments. Diane Littleton CO
