Surgery in 2 days.

I am a nervous wreck. I know all should be well but it is hard for me b/c this is my first surgery ever.

Jeanell, At least your situation is not reversed with you having lots of surgeries and this being the 1st for your surgeon. Oh my! You will be in excellent hands and everything will be just fine. You will be well taken care of, I assure you. The hospital has some great staff and there is a wonderful track record of excellence all of the way through. We will be praying for you too. By now you have already had your surgery and you are well on your way. I am three weeks post-op today and feel great! Congratulations on your surgery and your adventure to your new life! Jami

Thanks so much for the incoursgement and yes I am post-op 4 days.I just got home today from the hospital. I am sore but don't feel too bad. I feel hungry though? did you feel that way. especially when I smell food. I just keep telling myself that it is mind over matter. and drink some water or protien drink. Good luck to you too. I WAS SO HUNGRY the first week - week and a half after getting home. And smells still drive me crazy. I can watch someone eat french fries with no problem, but put me in a small room with a bag of them and I go nuts. Some things that really helped me through that first week was the Phillyswirl Sugar Free popsicles that you can buy from Sams for like $8 for 40 of them. They have a cotton candy that tastes just like cotton candy. That helped a bit with cravings and gives you more fluid! Hang in there.. befor you know it you will be also eating cottage cheese and egg beaters. Ahhhh to eat with a fork again! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you out.
