Dr. Snyder in Denver will be doing the surgery. I've heard lots of good things about him. I have one week left before surgery and I'm a little nervous but doing fine. Just so glad to here that there is so much support here, very exciting.

Russ, Congratulations! From everything I've ever heard Dr. Snyder is the absolute best in the field in Colorado so you're in good hands. Best of luck to you. It's great that you are going into this with a positive attitude...keep it up! I am at the 5 month point and I'm amazed at how this surgery has made my life so much better. Everyday I thank God for making this a reality for me and for making my surgery so straightforward. Take care and let us know how you are doing. Paul 379/244/200 105 pounds in 5 months!

Congratulations Russ on your surgery!!!! I am 6 days post op and I know just how you are feeling. Let me share with you that the team that Dr. Snyder has put together is AWESOME. The night before surgery I got a call from the Anestisia Dr. (I want to say it was Dr. Giammani... or something like that. I am going to find out for sure... she really was awesome!) to walk me through what she was going to do and ask me if I had any concerns. They day of the surgery I had Dr. Snyder, Patrick another Dr. I don't know, 2 or 3 nurses come up and introduce themselves and talked to me about my concerns. Then the anestisia Dr.came in gave me some meds through my IV and the next thing I know I had a wonderful nurse by my side telling me to wake up and breathe. Surgery was all over. The only advice I would give to you is be agressive once you are taken to your room. The RN's are pretty busy and the first day I want to get up and walk about 2 hours after being taken to my room and I didn't get to until about 7 hours after. Take you "Bible" with you and if it says you should be on Stage two diet don't stop asking until they answer your question. You will be fine and I will keep you in my thoughts. You are in wonderful hands with Dr. Snyder and his team! Jami
