disappointed (venting)

I hear alot about support groups etc. but living in Wyoming the support groups are 100 miles away and with the weather we are subjected to here it is almost impossible to travel that far....You would think there was more than 1 person in this small town of 9,000 that had surgery. I subjected myself to online groups but they don't really care about hearing the same old story and same questions that they consider common sense. I guess it is impossible to have that online connectrion with someone who has had the surgery and maintain what I consider some what of a friendship.................. ok I am finished venting Anita

Anita, Have you tried the September 2004 surgery board on this site? I am a regular on the March 2004 as that is when I had my surgery. I find this the most helpful board as everyone on it is going through the same thing I am at the same time. We have all gotten to know each other over the last 9-months and all feel like friends. We have even talked about getting together somewhere on our 1-year aniversary month to meet face to face. Have you check into the one in Greeley at North Colorado Medical Center. They met on Monday and Tuesday I believe around 6:30PM. I am going to the one tomorrow. I have attended a few and really enough the meeting and the people. Johnie

Thank you johnie but greely is 211 miles from me and with the weather we have it is no way I could travel that but thank you for the suggestion
