I finally talked to my Dr.

I have been considering this surgery for several months and just today finally had the guts to talk to my primary care physician about it. She was so cool I could not believe it! For some reason, I had expected a lot of resistance, a lot of "you need to try such-and-such", etc. It was such a relief to be able to just cry in her office and tell her how ashamed I have been about my weight. WOW!! She said she has several patients who have undergone this surgery, it is very much an accepted method of treating obesity these days. So, she said get started now on documenting how I am trying to lose weight, keep a journal, etc.. while she is getting the referral done.

Good for you, Liz! That's a big step. Acceptance is the key to get one motivated and start the process. Best wishes, Rusty
