I'm Outta Surgery and Back Home!!
Hey, all.
Thanks so much for all the responses to my last post. I appreciate the support and well-wishes. I figured it would be easier to post a new message than trying to respond to everyone individually. A special thank you to my volunteer during the GI. It made the trip a bit easier. 25 minutes and I was done. Also, special thanks to my friends that popped in to see me at Rose and to a fellow-WLS patient from March 8 of this year. Thanks Happy Looser for stopping in. I appreciate your visit tremendously. Sorry I was a bit goofy (gotta love the morphine).
Anyway, I've been home since Friday afternoon. My wife's been taking real good care of me, but I'm trying to do most of what I need to do on my own. She is so protective of me and I thought she was gonna smack someone around at the Walgreen in Parker over screwed up meds. I've settled in, got my oxygen going (should be only a couple of weeks on it, I think) and have been sucking down lots of water, tea and protein drinks. Not sure how much I'm down. I'll find out next Wednesday at my 1 week followup. Everything's fitting much better now, though, my back doesn't hurt quite as much when I'm up and about and my ankles have returned to normal size!!
I feel great, actually. Not too much pain (even when I don't take the pain killers), not too gassy. I was expecting much worse. Perhaps I'm lucky, I don't know, or a bad week is coming. Just real happy about the way I feel right now. Feels good to get out and walk around, too. I'll keep you posted in the next few weeks on how things are going. Thanks again for all the well-wishes and encouragement.
Ron
