Had My Suregery Consult Today

Saw my surgeon today and had a couple of heart stopping moments when the nurse said the doctor would be evaluating whether or not I qualified for the surgery. I thought I already had passed that test. LOL Blood pressure was a little high after that statement, but went down after I talked to Dr. Lucas. She covered all the things that could go wrong because of my health problems before she talked about anything else which I really appreciated. No sugar coating the procedure or the risks involved so I had a very good picture of what could happen. I was thrilled when I asked about the success rate over the long term and it matched up with everything I have been learning. I will get a call in the next two weeks to schedule my surgery and it should be either late September or early October. (I did tell her if she had any cancellations that I would be glad to fill the empty slot) LOL If I wasn't worried I would crash through to the first floor I would be jumping up and down . LOL PARTY TIME!!!

Hey, girlie! So glad to hear that you are cleared for surgery! I had my consult on the 4th. Dr. Brown was very clear also on the risks and such, but, he said that most of my health problems would probably disappear before I left the hospital! WoooHooo! Let us know when your surgery is...mine and Paul's is on Sept. 27th....who knows....we may be in the hospital at the same time! Wouldn't that be a trip???! Yeah!!! Glenda, I was happy to hear what you had to say about Dr. Lucas. I meet with her on August 18th. My stomach is full of butterflys and knots. I have offered to time Mary and Paul when they make their laps around the nurses' station, maybe you will be there too! Paul! Wow! Keep up the good work. I have taken off about 20 pounds from my class high, but you are my hero! Mary, enjoy your trip and call when you get back. I'll let you all know when I have a date. Love to you all!
