2nd time is the charm?

Well on Monday I am scheduled for my 2nd attempt at the bypass. The first time they found that I had a bad liver and aborted the bypass. After seeing Dr. McElwee - the liver specialist- he cleared me and I went to see Dr. Dickinson. Back in the saddle again. A bit more nervous this time, dont' know why. I have been through most of the surgery, just not the stapling of my stomach and the dietary changes afterwards. The last surgery was almost as long and looked just like I had the bypass. Glad I found the locals board. Up until my surgery I had been talking with people in BFE. I like to talk to locals who know how it is here and might have the same doctor, etc. Now I have jumped ship from the Independence day babies to the August loosers. This time Hopefully all goes off without a hitch. Thanks to everyone who contributes to this site. It is so helpful on a regular basis, really great when in doubt but the best when something bad happens and you just need to hear that it is okay. Thanks to everybody who takes time to write to strangers. It is putting good points in your Karma bank.

Hi Patti, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! But since your doc already knows about the liver prob and that has been dealt with, I'm sure everything will go smoothly this time. Michelle

Good luck Patti! Think of it as having twice the benefit of just the normal procedure...you found out about a problem and were able to get it taken care of (good fortune to get that issue taken care of) and now you can continue to become healthier day by day! We are all rootin for you
