I have a question about pureed foods...ok, I can not eat cottage cheese I think that I am becoming lactose intolerant as it makes me sick to eat it, yoguart does the same thing. Apple sauce and cream of wheat are getting old, and I am stumped on other things I can eat. If I eat the baby food fruits then I am hungry a little later or they are to sweet for me. I am so stumped, I was wondering if ya'll had any new ideas for me? I am all eyes and ears to try something new. I was also wondering if I can take something like a pot pie and puree it and have that? I just need something new!! Thanks!! Much Love, Kris

Hi, Kris! I dunno if this will be of any help to you, but...have you tried any homemade creamed soups? (that way you can control what goes in them) Just puree the lumps out...like cream of potatoe? Or mashed potatoes? My son tried to make homemade mashed potatoes last week...he's 15...and they turned out really runny....LOL. Trying to be good parents, David and I ate them anyway. And to tell the truth, they tasted pretty good...even though we had to eat them with a spoon...LOL I don't see why you couldn't eat the pot pie...just leave out the crust, because even if it is pureed, it could lump up in your tummy and you may have trouble digesting it. I also read somewhere you can take the progresso soups and strain it and the broth was really tasty...maybe you could puree it? I don't know if this helped, but, I hope so. You take care now, ya hear???!! Let me know if you find something that works for you...I'll need it pretty soon too! Later, Chickie! Mary

Hey Kris, I am in the pureed stage as well, It went pretty well the first couple days , my fave was chili with no veggies.. Digests well..However now the texture of anything pureed makes me gag so, I eat chicken and cheese, chili and a few other things I just chew really well, take really small bites and measure everything 1-1 and a half oz.I am still on 90 % protein and am doing pretty good with that. I miss veggies and salad. LOL Good luck!! talk to ya soon. Korianne

Hey Kristin, I too am just at the beggining of the puree stage.Already bored to death lol... I sramble 1 egg for breakfast then take a fork and ma**** to death little salt and pepper= 7 grams of protein. Safeway has a baked potato soup that is wonderful i bought a container(small) divided it into containers 2 ounces each it is not chunky but i run the stick blender thru it once or twice for good measure and it is really good, mashed potato soup. Also instant mashed potaos flavored with chives(in the store).Rosarita refried beans with lime, campbells chiken and stars soup the pasta is so small as to be reeediculous in fact i think the should be fined for calling it chicken or pasta. lol Hope this helps a little... I found some canned chicken spread in the grocery store by the spam and tuna. They also have deviled ham. You could add some mayo and dill to season it a bit, more than just salt and pepper. How about Peanut Butter, there is Carb Options by Skippy I think that is made with Splenda, and it tastes good. Have you tried refried beans? Our bariatric nurse recommended the ones from Taco Bell since they know they are made with water and not a lot of fat. They come with sauce and cheese. Good Luck! Carla
