Need some help and info, Y'all!

Hello all! There's a lady at my church that has had the RNY and a muscle reconstruction surgery. She has had NO counciling what-so-ever! YIKES! She is on disability, therefore, her surgery was taken care of by Medicade. She said they don't pay for any type of pre-op or post-op support groups and she cannot afford to pay for any independent ones. Is there an ARVADA group that meets??? She is having problems with depression...related to the changes she's gone through. I recommended this website for support, but she doesn't have a computer. Is there some help out there for her? If you guys know of any support group that she could attend OR have any ideas please let me know! Thanks! Mary

There is the support group that meets at the standley lake library once a month and it is FREE!! Everyone is so wonderful and supportive. You and her should both come. We would love to have you both!! I hope that this helps!! Much Love, Kris

Glad I can be of help. The net meeting is on August 15th. They run from around 2-2:30 til around 4:00-5:00 very casual. It is at the Standley Lake Library in the first conference room that you come upon as you enter the main doors off to the right. If you need any more info just ask and I will try to help out!! Hi. Dr. Michael Snyder also has a support group that is free. I can't remember the name of the place. It is at a library located on Irving and 74th Ave. It is on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00. Dr. Snyder has his support group open to those who have used other surgeons. It is a great group. Mary, Kris beat me to it - but YES, please come and bring her to the Arvada support group! Sunday 8/15 at 8485 Kipling Street. Also, I attend another free support group in Aurora twice a month. It is on Potomac, just south of Mississippi and the hospital there. Every 1st monday, and third wednesday. We all need to go to support group!
