Korianne, I read your profile. Sounds like you're doing great!
Hi Korianne!
I've been corresponding with you regarding the tragic loss of one of Dr. Snyder's patients. I read your profile and I'm glad you're feeling better and it sounds like you're a really great mom and wife! I have an 8 year old daughter, but I'm a few years older than you are! I started late - I'm 44 years old! Anyway, I just wanted you to know that I read your profile and I know you are going to really succeed with your weight loss and succeed in getting healthy for your family! I had my surgery with Doc Snyder on April 14, 2004 at Rose. I had a few complications (like you), but I'm really happy that I had the surgery and I guess I'm somewhat of a slow loser. I've lost 47 pounds in 3 months, but that's 47 pounds I otherwise would not have lost, I'm sure! Anyway, I feel really bad for Dr. Snyder and, of course, for the family who lost their loved one.
Have a great night!
Megan Smith
Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragment, Megan. I need all I can get. I was doing good as far as the weight loss is concerned, however, I am at a standstill for almost a week now. Its frustrating. also I have alot of head hunger. I need some variety. I can not yet say it was worth it but.. Ill let ya know later.. LOL
Are you going to the clothing exchange today at standley lake library??
I am going to try to go, I need to find a sitter for the little people.
Thanks again for your continued support.

Hi Korianne.
I couldn't go to the clothing exchange today. It would have been nice to meet you face-to-face. Thanks for asking me, though!
Anyway, keep your chin up. Things will really get better for you. I know it's hard to take care of your family when you are only a couple of weeks out from surgery. It's hard enough having little ones without the surgery, let alone trying to recouperate, figure out the food issues, clean the house, take care of a husband, shop, etc. with a major surgery. However, it will get better though!
So, you're about 3 weeks or more out. Let's see what you can eat: Dr. Snyder told me about these and they were really good. They are called Edamame beans (it's a japanese type pod or you can get them without the pod) and they are chuck full of protein and they taste really good. I found them in the frozen vegetable section at King Soopers. You can steam or boil them and they taste really good and very satisfying too. It's like having a vegetable, but with a ton of protein. My 8 year old and husband really like them too. Let's see what else: have you made sugar free pudding with skim milk? That always tastes really good too. I think you can have chili and thicker-types of soups. Also, I eat those Kraft cheese slices. They seem to not be as heavy as a regular block kind of cheese on my pouch - I tolerate them really well, and if you really chew, chew, chew them, it goes down like a pureed food. Well, I hope I gave you a few new ideas for food choices. The first 6 weeks are the hardest. One thing I have never liked to do even before surgery was to think so much about food! And those first 6 weeks or so seems like that's all your doing. It will pass, believe me!
Sorry you are going through a plateau! I hate those things! They can be so frustrating! Dr. Snyder encouraged me once by saying, "You are not a failure. This isn't Weigh****chers. You will succeed." I keep trying to dwell on those words. I find myself repeating them quite often!
Well, I hope you had a good time at the clothing exchange. Someday it would be nice to meet you in person. Have a great rest of the weekend!
Megan
