Post Op Complications
I was having pain in my left arm area (where they normally draw blood) which was weird cause the IV's were in my hands. TURNS OUT I have a blood clot in my arm which is causing the pain and soreness. I have to take coumadin and some sort of other anticoagulant sp? in shot form twice a day for 5 days. I am having some emothinal issues as well. I am mad at myself for putting my family thru all the stress and termoil that this surgery has caused. I should have known something would go wrong postoperatevly. I have a history of post surgical pulmanary embolism. I am definately having regrets. My husband spent the last 8, yes I said 8 hours at the ER with me. My kids were there for 23 of them. they are such great kids. THey were awesome. Also.. I can't wait to get this
#@!$%&* Drain removed.. I will keep ya posted..

Korianne--
As someone who had unexpected post op complications, I know how you feel, however, I did not and do not have any regrets. I really was just frustrated with having to go to the ER, in a lot of pain and being hospitalized twice after my surgery (2 weeks after). That being done and over with, I thought I was home free, and then a few weeks ago, my office had to call an ambulance for me and I went back to the ER and was kept overnight, a reaction to Vioxx, which was approved by the Surgeon's office. Aside from the embarrassment, I still do not regret the surgery, I regret I was in the office when I had my little episode, but in the long run, I know the benefits will outweigh all of these little incidents. My youngest is 10 years old, and has been very good throughout, all my children have, but I worry about him the most since he is so young, he supports me and reports on me and my progress to anyone who will listen, so of course, we are careful what we say around him, he is concerned but not scare and is thankful I am doing well, he even told me when he thought "I" was getting back to normal and how well I "survived" this surgery. Sometime our children are our greatest children. I have found being open and honest with them helps me and them the most. Things seem hard now, but we knew it would be and it will get easier with each day. Hope you are enjoying your book.

Korianne,
I am soooo sorry to here that you are having some problems. I can understand the post complications frustration. I have an ulcer in my pouch that is painful and I have been batteling with for the last 2 months. Some times it really sucks. I have good moments and bad ones but it gets easier as time goes by. Keep your chin up and don't look back just forward because you can't go back but it will get easier.
Good luck,
Leslie
Korianne,
Hi! You know, I have been lucky to sail thru the past few weeks or post-op and totally took it for granted. I am really hoping that you are feeling much better soon, and that you'll get the #@!$%&* drain removed quickly. (IKK!!!!)
After surgery your emotions are running so very out-of whack, so please try not to beat yourself up for any reason. Your family loves you, and they are the main reason you had this surgery, and they will be as patient with you as you need them to be. I haven't actually met Bill, but my impression of him is sky-high. Don't worry - he can handle it. You just focus on making sure you follow the Dr.s orders, and you WILL be feeling better soon....I promise!
