1 week pre op went well!!
I went to my 1 week pre op appt with Dr Snyder today and it went well. I did the T and F test that I was worried about. LOL CAKE
I am a little confused on the pre op diet it says 4-5 days before surgery No Hi calorie carbs, food or drink.
It also goes on to say 3 dayd before surgery no Bulky fiberous foods like meats salads or vegetables, no fatty or greasy foods either..
What does that leave?? uuum, I can't think of anything....

Korianne--
I think we all wondered about this, I found it meant mostly liquids, broth from soups, boullion, I even had some Won Ton soup without the won tons, the flavor was still there. If you do have meats, have something light like chicken or tuna, not fried, and not a whole lot. You can drink crystal light, fruit 2 o, water (which is good practice, I didn't drink a whole lot of water before I thought about this surgery), tea, etc. You can also have jello, with fruit. Believe it or not, you can do this. Hope that helps.
BTW, I don't know how old you are but if you are still having your cycle, it is a good idea to take feminine products in your bag just in case, the procedure prompted mine to kick in unexpectedly. I was told that is pretty usual, I wish I had known. I also took a light weight robe and slippers to wear for walking the halls.
When I went home I had jello, water, broth, decaff tea, crystal light, I also found some "Popsicle" makes sugar free popsicles, fudgesicles and creamsicles with splenda, all that counts towards liquid, so you may want to try some of that ahead of time, so it is home when you get there. I bought the sugar free jello premade, but found I couldn't eat the whole cup at a time, and didn't want to waste it. So my husband went to Party Warehouse and found some one ounce souffle cups with lids and we made our own sugar free jello from the box. It worked really well and I could make all the flavors I wanted, each box makes between 15 and 20 1 ounce servings. I still have some of those cups left if you want some. Since you have to track all your fluid intake, it really works well. Let me know if you want to talk some more, since I live in Thornton, I might be closer than you think.

Sorry--
I forgot about the protein, but I didn't start taking it until after surgery, but it is probably a good idea to try it before surgery. I have some of the Nectar, if you want samples. I know you can get samples on line via links on this website. I know some people blend it, I just mixed it with water in a shaker cup, my tupperware one worked great and it has the measurements marked on it. If you don't have one, at Flatirons annex, there is a store that carries them, it has a lot of cooking and home products, but the name escapes me now, sorry, if you don't have time, I have 2 or 3 so I would be glad to share.
