I am hoping to have the surgery and wooried about the water intake. I do not hsardly drink allot of water as it is now....i hardly drink anything. For as long as I can remember I can go a whole day w/ just 8 oz of liquid. When I was preganant w/ both of my kids I had hyperemisis (sever throwing up 24/7 for the entire duration of pregnancy), and always had to be IV'd because of dehydration. Is there anything you can put in water after surgery to give it a bit of taste? I thought I should really try and practice drinking more fluids now. Thanks,
Kori

My surgery is 06/30/04 So I don't know first hand but from what I've been told I have two words for you Crystal light! I have been trying different flavors and I love it now. But like my surgeon says... Water is always best. Good luck to you..

If you have not taken the nutrition class when you do the nutritionist will be really helpful there she had some fab ideas. All fluid counts as your intake but you CANNOT have any beverages with carbonation, calories, or caffeine. I love plantation mint tea it is the best iced cold.

Both of these are good to know...I love Crystal Light and all teas...I am not big on soda (if i do drink it is Sprite or 7-up)...so I wont be missing out on much there, and I am not too big on sugary sweet things in my tea. I will practice more w/ H2O itself and then get more ideas when I see the nutrionist. Thanks for your suggestions.

If you are looking for a noncarbonated flavored water try Fruit20. I have found 4 packs of it at Super KMart, but I have also found it at Sam's Club, for about $9.95 a case of 24, it comes it four flavors, strawberry, raspberry, orange and lemon, it is sweetened with Splenda. The 4 pack at K-Mart is about $2.50. I didn't drink a lot of water before surgery either, so I started practicing. One suggestion a support person gave me was to keep an 8 ounce cup of water in different places in the house, by the kitchen sink, in the bathroom, living room, etc. as a reminder to drink your water. I didn't try it, but it might help. Good luck! C.

Thanks...I will certainly try these out. I have a friend that drinks them on a daily basis just because. I totally forgot about them being in existence. I appreciate your reply. LaWanda
