Hi, all Good news, so far. EKG found no major issues, so my cardiologist has ordered an echocardiogram and chemical stress test, just to be absolutely sure there's no problem with the old ticker. The initial news was good from the cardiologist in that she did not believe I had suffered any type of heart attack. She fully expects the tests to rule out heart problems, but she was pretty concerned over the weight. Said I would develop heart problems if I didn't get rid of it. She will be providing a letter in support of the surgery, I think. Got another tidbit of news that indicates my endocrinologist will write me a letter of support, as well. Echocardiogram scheduled for June 1, workup by endocrinologist on June 8 and the chemical stress test still to be scheduled. Thanks to all for the support. Will be out of town June 27 till the 1st of June. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend and look forward to talking then.

Ron, That is fantastic news!!!! I bet you are relived that everything is ok. I also got a letter from my endocrinologist endorsing me for the surgery and it seemed to help with my approval. I will be seeing her in two weeks to re-test to make sure my levels are ok after 2 months of being post opt. I will thank her then for her support especialy as she was not to thrilled that I wanted to have surgery. Have a great weekend. Leslie

Thanks, Leslie. It's good to hear that letters from other doctors might help. I was worried it would hurt the process. In today to get my MRI of the heart to check the valves. Looking forwarde to that being over smoothly. I'll let you know how it turns out. How you doing, btw? Been away for about 5 days and trying to catch up on everything. Take care.

Hi, Kristin. Yeah, I hope the others go as well, too. I should know more on the MRI later today (scheduled at 3pm). If that one checks out clean, the stress test should check out, too, I think. BTW, an endocrinologist studies body chemistry, including hormone levels. My doctor has been saying that they are beginning to test regularly for hormone imbalances and that they find them more often than not. My body chemistry won't allow me to lose weight, right now, even though I'm trying. ron

Thanks, Susan I appreciate your support. How you doing? Getting excited about your upcoming day? Hope you're doing well. Went to Missouri to visit relatives over the weekend. I wanted it to be great, but it really wasn't. I think most of our family were stunned by my size. No one said anything (except Jennifer's grandmother), but you could see it on their faces. That hurt a bit, but it was nice that people used restraint. Hopefully, the next time I see them (many, many years down the road...), they won't recognize me. Take care and let me know how you're doing. Ron

Ron, Boy! Do I hear ya on the "disgusted look" on relative's faces I was at my parent's retirement in January, and people didn't even really recognize me. My Mom has always been very thin, and has never "understood" how on earth I could be so heavy. It is nice to see family (in small doses, sometimes) but it is always good to come home, too. Talk to you soon... Susan
