I've been APPROVED!
Congratulations, Susan!!! I was just on the phone with Gary Viscio and he mentioned that someone in Colorado just got approval prior to a teleconference. I immediately thought of you. Prayers have been answered, including my own and I so very happy for you.
Still gathering the necessary data for medically supervised weight loss attempt, but all other docs are together. Have all medical history and Sleep Apnea diagnosis, among other things. I'm hopeful I can get an approval quickly, as I weighed in this morning and found myself at 357 pounds and BMI of right at 53.
Again, congratulations!! You deserve it.
Ron, Thanks so much for your post. Yep! That WAS me that Gary was referring to. I nearly cried on the phone when I talked to him. I have waited for this approval for sooooooooooo long!
Who is your surgeon? Mine is Dr. Tillquist/Swedish Hospital.
It all seems very surreal after being denied 3 times so far. It will be SUPER when I finally have a surgery date.
I am just about 100 lbs under you, but only 5'4". It is funny... after I got the call, I could not concentrate on work, so I went outside and just stood there for a minute or two, then got a wild hair to take my dog for a walk. We walked 45 minutes. How great it will feel when I don't ache every step of the way!
I am glad to hear you called Gary. He worked out very well for me
Take care,
Susan
Susan, Susan, Susan!!!!
I am so elated for you. You have worked very hard to have this happen.
There are alot of people out there that have similar stories, YOUR'S has a happy ending. (or should I say beginning!?)
We have reason to celebrate Sunday!!! I am planning on being there. I spoke to Paola after the meeting @Penrose in COlorado Springs on Friday, and she may be there, too.
Susan,
GOD IS GOOD...and this is a gift from HIM...I am soooooooo happy for you. We mentioned you on our meeting last friday because there's a guy who has CIGNA who had been denied surgery even though his BMI is over 55. I told him to talk to you hehehe...I know you know your stuff better than anyone I've seen.
I remember when my mom agreed to pay for my surgery it felt like I was in a dream. Everything went slow motion for a couple of days. I know how you feel...CONGRATULATIONS!!!
HUGS,
Paola
