little question
I have heard a lot about the taboo issue of grazing. I get this but I had surgery about a month ago on my sinuses and I was in HELL every four hours when my pain meds wore off. I have a low tolerence for meds so I was on anti nausea meds (patch) and I had to nibble crackers so I could tolerate the meds same when I had a C-section. That sounds like grazing and I do not want to mess up.
Post op what is the meds picture going to look like?
Hi there, Kay -
I'd talk to your doctor about it. Right after surgery, you'll probably won't feel like eating much at all, so you may need better anti-nausea medicine, or take your medicine only when you do eat. As for the meds picture, here's mine (remember, yours may be different):
- At the hospital, morphine for pain
- Immediately post-op, Percoset for pain (as needed)
- After the Percoset, Tylenol for pain (as needed)
- Four months' of Prevacid in case of ulcers.
- Six months' of Actigall in case of gallstones.
- Of course, all the supplements, too - Flinstones Vitamins with Iron (2x a day), Viactiv Calcium (2-3x a day), and B-12 (1x a day)
And that's it. It's not too bad - and the best thing is that I love my supplements. They sure do taste yummy!
