Question for y'all
My consultation is next Friday and I am so scared. What can I expect from this appointment? Will they take blood and run tests or just talk to us. I have had butterfiles in my tummy since I made the appointment and I can't sleep because it is all I can think about. I feel like I am going to loose my mind.
Thanks!!
kris
My consultation appointment was January 15th with Dr. Tillquist. I don't know what your surgeon does, but at Dr. T's, I turned in the paperwork they had sent me in the mail. Then I watched a video for about 15 minutes. Then CJ, the nurse practitioner came in and went over the video information with me. She breezed thru it, cuz I have studied WLS for a year, and had very few questions. Then, they weighed me, and put me in an exam room. Dr. Tillquist came right in, and just basically talked about my health history, and he asked me if I was ready for this... HECK YA!
Unfortunately, I have Cigna, and they don't like to approve WLS. Dr. T's office will not schedule a surgery date for me until I have an insurance approval in my hot little hands... SOON!

Kristin,
Don't worry. It is totaly painless. You just fill out your paperwork take it in to the Dr's. He will then sit down with you and discuss the proceedure what to expect, your health history, all the potential complications, the reasons why you want to have surgery, what other steps that you need to do to get approved (susie does this I believe, I had everything but the nutrition consult done when I saw him, and that was scheduled), what kind of support from friends and family do you have, and weather he believes you to be a good choice for surgery. You don't meet with him again until the day you have surgery. Make sure that you write down all the questions you have for him as I forgot some of mine because I was nervous.
You'll do fine. Bring your husband if you aren't already planning to so that he can get all his questions asked to.
Let me know how the appointment goes.
