OK, I want to know more about this club! It is close to me. I used to go to curves, but haven't in a long time. I am getting closed (every day) to my surgery... tho no date has been set. Is it a large facility? Co-ed? Pool or hot tub? And the biggie... how much does it cost? There is a great trail, approximately 3 miles round trip along the Ralston Creek. 1 block north of 58th (Ralston Rd) between Independence and Wadsworth. There is no way I can do 3 miles yet... maybe 1. I work from home, and can schedule walking time anytime. Anyone interested? Susan

Susan, I have a membership to the Apex Center here in arvada. It is $25 per month. A large pool, Hot tub, work out area, ice skating rink, the whole nine yards. I also live near the Ralston Creek trail. My husband and I walk the dogs on it. I'd love to have a walking partner. One of us should e-mail Kris to see if she would like to join us. Leslie

Premier doesn't have a hot tub, durn it, but it has a lot of other good stuff. I think I pay $25 a month, and there are no memberships to buy. There is an initial fee, but they often have specials when the fee is waived. The cool thing about Premier is that it's for all shapes, sizes, and ages. It's co-ed. They have great exercise classes, with instructors who are NOT 20-something hardbodied fitness Nazis! They have weight training, step, Pilates, spinning, and this summer there's a free Tai Chi class being held in a nearby park. If you don't have to go to work at 8:30 am, there's a great class for folks who are just beginning exercise programs or who are older. That's where I started last year and now, almost a year later, I can hold my own in almost any class (except advanced step!) and have a set of guns I can't believe are mine. It's kind of a no-frills, medium-sized club with a large weight room, a cardio room, a classroom area, a spinning room, and a stairmaster room, along with a short indoor track. They'll most likely give you a free week to try it out if you want to. Ask for Margaret and tell her Marty sent you, if you're interested.

Leslie, Wow! You must live close to me. And I see you just had surgery. Hooray for you I work from home, so I can make my own walking schedule. I am afraid I can't go far though. I live close to the west end of the trail. You? I bet we can get Kristen to join us

I live off of Yank st. Do you know where the elementary school is on Yank? I live across from it. I usually get off from work no later than 3pm, and I am done with school for the summer (I attend Red Rocks. I'm 34 today and looking to start a new career, go figure). It's ok that you can't go that far, I can walk from my house and meet you along the way and then walk home. No worries . I'm not sure where Kristen lives in Arvada. I will ask her today and see if she is interested. I had surgery on March 29, 2004. I had a very easy recovery, and so far no side effects or setbacks. I go to my surgeon for my one month check up today, I will let you know how it goes and how much I have lost. . My e-mail address is [email protected]. E-mail me and I will give you my phone number so that we can set something up. Talk to ya soon. Leslie

Hey guys!! I would love to join you. I live off of 76th and Sheridan and I dont get off work til 5 and then when I get home it is like 5:30-6:00 I work downtown. But I would love to work out. I would love to try the Premier club, when I checked it out a few years ago they were not that big and when I went to check it out a couple of months ago they were awesome. I would defently have to start out in the ez class and work my way up. There is also Lake Arbor on 80th in between Wads and Sheridan that we can walk around it is a mile, but I usually go around 2 times. That could be an option too. Just let me know and I will try my darndest to be there. Have a great day!! IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! Kris

Good Morning Kristin, How are you doing? I would love to join you guys to walk around the lake. Maybe we could rotate places and find new ones so that it is not always the same old thing. And when the weather sucks (like today) we could all meet at a mall and mall walk. I think it is a mile around at Colorado Mills. I thinks that I will just have to join you to walk as I already have a membership at the Apex Center here in Arvada that we pay $25 a month for. My husband would probably kill me if I joined a second club as I just recently got out of my membership with Ballys. The Dr. still has me on workout restrictions for weights. I will find out if that changes today at my appointment. Chow, Leslie

Kristen, I LOVE the little dancing guys! hehehe Well, I am going to go check out Premier Fitness this afternoon and see if they'll give me a free trial. Lake Arbor sounds good. I have never walked there. With springtime here (ignoring the snow today) it would be a nice time to start a couple of times a week in the evening? What do you think?
