Hi there, I am actually signed on through my friends account. She is posting this messege to help me find an insurance company that will cover this surgery in the Colorado Springs area. I am employed but the coverage they offer is Starbridge Insurance and it is very basic. If anyone has any info regarding this, PLEASE help me, as I am a 29 year old male 460 lbs and am on 4 different high blood pressure meds. I am desperate to get this done and reclaim my life. Thank you.. Bobby

United Health Care is covering my lap-band. I am pretty sure that they cover RNY as well. I know Aetna covers RNY, but they told me they would not cover lap-band. Both make you jump through many hoops though. There is info on this site which will let you look up by state the insurers. It is under insurers at the top of the page. If you look under this section, by Colorado, there may be more info for you. Good luck in your search! Eileen

Anthem, which is based in Denver (BCBS) offers individual health insurance benefits and I found them remarkably easy to deal with. My doctors office said the worst two are Aetna and Cigna so do your best to steer clear of the two of them. My husband had lost his job and we were covered under cobra and it cost us for the 2 of us and 3 children about 850 a month. That sounds outrageous but it isn't really. We were in a ppo plan and only paid a 10.00 co-pay for both providers and rx. They have a website anthem.com check em out. Good luck!
