I am looking for a support group

I live in longmont and i was wondering if anyone knows if there is a support group close by. I am scheduled for surgery in january and i could really use the support of others. Jade

Hi Jade! I love your name...it's so pretty. I dont know what you consider "close by", but there is a wonderful support group here in Fort Collins. There are actually several people who attend from Longmont--and even Denver. They have their meetings on the last Monday of each month (the next one is on November 24) and they start at 6pm and usually go until about 8pm. They are held in the basement of Poudre Valley Hospital--behind the cafeteria. There is a very good mixture of pre and post ops there, and I always learn something new. I am not sure if you want to join a good online support group that alot of denver and around the areas belong to.. but here is their web addy.. they are really really supportive there.. And have get togethers all the time.. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/OSSG-Friends/ it supports not only people that are having WLS, but Dieting issuses, insurance, they talk about not just WLS, they include your WHOLE life before and after.. great group !! I belong to them and don't even live close.. But they are a swell group and very loveing.. Audrey

Hi, A new support group is starting in the Englewood area. We meet the first and third Tuesday of every month - 6:30pm to 7:30pm or longer. Pre and post-op patients are invited to attend. The meetings are at the Malley Senior Center in Englewood. Can you come?
