Still would love your help!!!!
Hello! You don't know me but I was the one who asked for help for my friend, I was really hoping that someone who is a caring person would step up and go to the hospital and see my friend. She is too weak to go to a support group at this time. She keeps falling down and it is because she is suffering of malnutrition. I am sorry my spelling isn't the greatest! Anyway if there is anyone out there who would be so kind as to do this I would greatly appreciate it! Tanya is at Skyridge Hospital and will probably be there for one more day. If you want to go for me let me know and I will give you her info so you can go see her. Thanks! I will check back at 1 p.m. to see if anyone would like the info so they can go see her. Thank you Michelle
So sorry to hear this...also sorry I'm just now seeing this post. I'm not on here much. But, I know Skyridge well as that's where I had my surgery. I realize that she's not there at this time anymore and I don't live in Colorado Springs...I'm actually quite further north of CS. So, not sure how I could help, but I'd love to try something if I can.
Sincerely,
Heather

Heather it is good to hear from you. I just talked to my friend and she is wanting the support group schedule. So do you know when they have support group meetings in Colorado Springs? I also have her phone number at home if you would like to call her. I don't know if it would be long distance for you or not. Let me know if you would like her phone number if so I will ask her if it would be ok to give it to you before I give it out. She is having physical therapy coming to her home. She is waiting to hear from an occupational therapist. So now they are at least trying to help her get her strength back. She is on food stamps and they cut the amount she is getting now. I guess she had went out and bought some things she is supposed to be eating the other day and is having better luck with eating. Let me know if you would like her phone number and I will send it to you. I don't get on Obesity Help either very much because the Indiana group seem to be so mean at least to me. I said something along time ago that they thought was about them but wasn't so now they jump me everytime I am on. So I don't ever go there to post anything. Well thanks for trying to help my friend Tanya! Let me know what you would like to do!

Hi! well, I'm not in the Colorado Springs area...so, I don't know of any meetings. However, the surgeon I used at Skyridge, Dr.Chae, does have support group meetings right there in that hospital. I think it would be a bout a 45 minute drive...approximately for her. I haven't gone to the meetings in SOOOO long. But, they were great the ones I did attend. The meetings are about 45 minutes from my house too...but, I live north of Skyridge, while your friend lives south. So, it could be a good meetup point for the both of us. I'm a full time student currently and a FT photographer with my business. So, I'm horrible about phone calls right now. But, I'd love to try. How about this, give her my number 720-319-7441 and when/if she wants, she can give me a ring. I hate to say that I'm crazy busy, so she may have to leave me a message, but I'll return her call as soon as possible. I love text messages too if she's so inclined.
Also, tell her to contact BARBARA DAMON ([email protected]. She's the lady that organizes the meetings and she sends out a monthly email telling about all the surgeons nearby that offer meetings (including the ones at Skyridge). She can get on their email list and then get the monthly letters. However, if I recall you said she isn't able to get on the computer much due to her family. But, I think she really needs to make it a point to have her time at the computer too because it's critical to her success with her surgery.
anyway, lemme know what you think.
all the best,
Heather

Heather,
As you can see Michelle R has been so kind as to give me the info for support groups in the CS area and I called Tanya to tell her of the ones in her area. I will be glad to give her your phone number and she can get in touch with you if she wants to. I feel it will be to her benefit to contact you but you know what they say "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink!" I am not sure if she has texting or not I know I do not. I will also give her the womans' email address so she can contact her to see if there is a charge but as I told Michelle R I have never heard of there being a charge for any support groups. Thanks for all your time and offer of help! I appreciate it!

I contacted my friend, Tanya, and told her about the website and the support group meetings. She is afraid that they charge for these meetings but I told her I didn't think so. She is on a fixed income(disability) and is worried about having to pay to go to them. I have never heard of there ever being a charge for any support groups?? Anyway she has the info and now it is up to her. She does have a friend who has also had RNY and they are thinking of going together, which I think is a good thing! So thank you so much for your help! I do appreciate it!
