Hello, my brother is 37 and in need of surgery. It turns out that his insurance will not pay for it. I am looing for Doctors in the Denver area who wil do payment plans for him. It took him so long to accept that he needs this and the set back with the insurance is just to much for him. I  want him around for as long as I can and I wil do the leg work for him.  He is on o2, uses his cpap at night and his health will improve so much with this surgery.  Friends and family will donate money, he just needs a doctor and a hospital. So PLEASE tell me who helped you and I will look into them for him, I just need a start point. Thanks

there are companies that help finance medical procedures. Get out the phone book and start calling or searching for centers of excellence. The doctors office coordinator might be able to help direct you.

Hi Syndee,

Have you looked into Care Credit or other similar companies? It works like a credit card and most physicians take it.  I dont know anyone specifically, but my guess is that those surgeon groups who are not affiliated with a hospital (like the ones at University or Denver Health) would be most likely. I have a friend who had some kind of payment plan. I will find out who her surgeon was and more of the details and get back to you when I hear from her.

If I were doing this, I would start by googling, "Bariatric Self Pay Denver CO".  Those 5 search terms together should bring up just that.  Then I would go to the surgeons website as if they accept self pay, they probably have experience with folks that need to use the medical credit companies.

If you need help with research, please email me and I would be willing to help you at least get started.

I know of two doctors that have self pay for lapband, but didn't see in your posting what type of surgery he is wanting.

Also, you have probably already been down this road, but did you appeal the insurance companies denial?
